LED Lighting Package

Is it worth ordering this package?

Here in Canada, it is a $2500 package which includes the LED headlights and LED foglights. I am more interested in the LED foglights because I hate how the stock yellow/halogen foglights look.

While the LED headlights are cool, I don't really need them..I have them in my R8 and they do make a difference at night for sure. But the X5 is going to be my DD and I'm trying to keep my costs down, however I want to make sure I don't regret not getting it.

What are most guys who don't have the LED fogs doing to upgrade their halogen fogs? Is it possible to buy the OEM LED fogs from BMW and have it installed?

TIA

Search LED fogs I think there are a few members who did a swap on bulbs.
If you don't care much for the LED headlights then it would make sense NOT to get the $2500 option...

I didn't get them because I'm 95% city driving and you can honestly get away without headlights on the main roads. The standard BMW xenon bulbs are fantastic, so I didn't have a problem saying no to something for aesthetic purposes. Personally, there's a lot of aesthetic modding you can do for 2500... It just depends on what's important to you.

That being said, if I lived in a rural or suburban area, I would have probably looked more closely at the LEDs.

I have LED headlights. I'm actually very curious if they illuminate more of the road or not. I would love to compare it to a car with xenons back to back.

When I was shopping, I really wanted to be able to justify the LED headlights just for the cool factor. But, I couldn't. I was one of those guys that wanted the SA to put two cars side by side... at night so that I can see both. I wanted the oncoming perspective and the behind the wheel perspective. I was in the suburbs and never found the ability to justify the price... so I balked. However, I wasn't able to test them on a rural country road where they could possibly come in handy.

xenon lights produce slighly more lumens. led lights have turn signals in the eyebrow.

i installed spectrum led bulbs in my fogs and turn signals since mine has the xenon lights

Again, your car looks great!

Can you send me a link for the LEDs you bought? You said you bought for both the headlights and foglights?

What did you change in the headlights? I can't tell...

By the way, it seems you can buy the OEM LED foglights from BMW (not sure how much they are yet) but a forum member was selling them here

He says, they are plug and play..?
