Modb***ains carbon fiber mirror covers, anyone have them?
Does anyone have any experience with the full replacement carbon side mirrors from Modb***ains? Outside of the pricey BMWP set they seem to be the only replacement style out there, and for roughly the same price as all the other overlay "tape on" options.
Would figure they'd be very popular given their cost and the fact they're a full replacement I but don't see any feedback anywhere.

It's OK. I'd rate it an 8.5/10.
Finish is great but fit isn't 100%, especially at the ends. They don't lift but they also don't follow the curve of the trunk edge completely either. To be fair I could have heated it up and bent it but I didn't want to risk it.

i've been tempted to pull the trigger on these mirror replacements. Just been waiting to see if they are worth it or not. Maybe i'll have to be the guinea pig..
i was also shocked to see that the ones with the tabs that look like the replace the factory covers are cheaper the the covers that just stick with adhesives to the factory cover?? |

Just to update you guys on the order. I received an email from M o d bargains tonight with a special order form that needed to be filled out and signed and submitted back to them to continue the order process.
Got that back to them tonight. I also called and spoke with a rep from the store, said the carbon mirror caps (atleast for my order) will ship out within 6-10 business days. The representative i dealt with, his name was Brandon, was very friendly and answered all the questions I had and made sure I understood how they operate since they do not have a live inventory on their site. So far from the customer service side, very happy with the response I've gotten from them. Just have to wait to get the product in hand to review that and see how it fits! |

Thx for the update. My experience with them has been somewhat similar, very friendly but somewhat lacking info about the products they sell. I was going to buy a spoiler from them but they couldn't answer any of the questions I had about it.
I was also curious about these caps because they said they were full replacements but some of the description verbiage was straight up lifted from some of the other overlay sets out there or seemed to suggest they were overlays. Talking about how thin they were, etc. Again thanks for taking the plunge and the update. Fingers crossed they are a good product. |

Fore sure! Carbon and Montego Blue go together so well!
I was looking to add some more carbon bits to add to my carbon trunk on my AW 1er.Will be doing a lip soon, wrapping the roof in carbon fiber. And may do a hood at somepoint later down the road. Just got the approval email from the company today. so they said should be 7-10 days for production. Then just shipping. |

If everything is still on schedule, my mirror caps should ship out sometime this week between Tuesday and Friday. My order was approved on 8/27 and they said it normally takes 7-10 business days to ship. Will keep you guys updated once I receive shipping notification

Looks like I may have been over zealous with my estimate that they will ship out this week. Just went online to check the status on their webpage and current status is "Backordered".
SO.. whenever I do get these suckers in, I will get back to you guys for sure. |

So I guess I owe you guys an update on this, since I did finally receive the item in the mail. Unfortunately, for those who were hoping (as much as I was) it was too good to be true. Although the item description states that the mirror caps are replacement style and use tabs to install, I was shipped mirror "covers" with included 3M tape. I took measures to contact ModB***ains and ask to confirm if I did actually receive the correct product or if I was shipped the wrong item. I heard back a few days ago and the company that modb***ains uses does not even make a set that uses "tabs". Eric and Sean at modb***ains were always responsive to emails and worked closely with me to make sure I would be happy throughout the entire process. From a customer service standpoint, they have been some of the best I've dealt with. I was offered a full refund/RMA if I chose to do so.
I figured since I had the mirror caps in my possession I would at least try to see how they fit and look on my car. Figured if I saw them on there and it looked very good I might as well keep them. However, I ran into a slight issue with what looks to be production of the mirror caps, there is quite a bit of the oem white cap peeking through on the passenger side. Driver side wasn't as bad, it was tolerable. Passenger side on the other hand not so much. Again went back to Modb***ains to see what we could do and see if they could send me a set that was cut correctly. The company that they use told Modb***ains that I had "LCI mirrors" and that they do not make LCI mirror caps. This is where I've left off as I am working with them proving by pictures that the mirror caps and my “pre-lci” mirrors are in fact the same style, because the LCI mirrors are the dumbo ones and look completely different from what I understand and if that were the case, I wouldn’t even be able to get the mirror covers to come remotely close to fitting |

Can you please explain the install process for this front spoiler lip? Very close to getting it but am worried about the install. Did you use stock screws? Please explain. Thanks!
