Idle speed with brakes applied

I noticed that there is a difference in idle engine speed when I'm stopped and have my foot on the brake versus no brake. That is, the idle speed is higher once my foot comes off the brake but prior to stepping on the throttle. Any idea why this is? This is on a DCT by the way. Just curious.

could be a brake booster hence the higher rev
