Hairy run in with a critter

I was on my way home, a few clicks before midnight. Cruising along a very familiar road. Maybe doing somewhere around 70 MPH.

There was no way to dodge the little guy. I was boxed in the left lane, shoulder and barrier to my left, occupied lane to my right. I don't think the little bugger made it.

Minimal damage, all said and done.

-Front mesh (grill) was displaced (popped the clips back in place)

-Minor kink in front spoiler

-Blood splatter

-Paint peel

-Scuff marks

I was kind of upset when I got home. But then I realized how lucky I actually was. It could have just as easily been a deer.

These damn LED lights are USELESS! Listing the car for sale!

Safe travels everyone!

There was a big thread on the Honda S2000 forums back in the day where a guy tried to avoid (failed to avoid) hitting a pigeon. Except that the pigeon survived, went up inside the front grill area and was running around inside on the bumper between the bumper and the radiator. Many jokes about "pigeon forced induction" and "extra 3hp" ensued.

Good to hear you are ok. Do you have a clear bra installed(doesn't look like it), seems to me like if you had one it would have saved all that minor damage.

Reminds me of what I saw a few years ago when walking through my school parking lot... at least you didn't have to deal with this

Definitely a close one. Given the history you had getting this car, that hit must feel like getting a much worse accident. Think touch up paint should be able to patch. Since the peel is so low and on the inner part then wouldn't be too noticeable.

10/10 should clear bra the front end to anyone that has the means.

Is that a cigarette butt in behind your grill in that one close up picture? No big deal but I'm OCD enough that would bother me.

Clear bra for a leased car is like wearing a condom with your wife or longtime monogamous partner.

Cars and relationships are the exact opposite in this regard.

If your woman is a keeper, then condom need not apply.
If it's a fast and loose relationship, or you aren't decided yet, then you need to "strap up".

Leased cars should go naked.
Purchased cars get the clear bra treatment.

Of course these are general rules and your own special situations may cause for deviation.

I once hit a squirrel in my Z4. He (or she) dislodged the lower mesh and ended up pinned between the mesh and the bumper, staring at me through the kidneys. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the extraction...

Lol! Yup. I'm a bad parent. It's been there for a few months. I've had the car for a few months.
