I was on my way down to meet a few friends last night, cruising down the highway minding my own business. And wouldn't you know, a Golf GTI (MK6) started harassing me. (It’s not the kind of story you have in mind).The guy would speed up from behind my car, swerve abruptly around me and just drive in the lane next to me at my same speed as if signaling that he wanted to race or something, need for speed style. Lol! Oh boy.


I waved him no a couple times, since I really wasn’t in the mood to embarrass him. But it got frickin annoying after a while. I felt like I just wanted him gone, because it was getting unsafe ... and all I wanted to do was to continue cruising down the highway while having some cake by the ocean!!!


Anyway, I drop a couple of gears to 3rd, sport mode rev-matches to the appropriate engine revs and I just frickin lay into the throttle because I was just tired of him.


And although the roads were damp -NOT WET- from some rain earlier that day, I was not expecting this. The traction lights started flickering and I could feel the rear end of my M3 do a slight dance, side to side. I could sense the hesitation in power delivery, as if the electronic diff and traction control computer system were truly struggling to select the wheel with enough traction in order to deliver the power. It’s insane how much torque these cars have, even at such high revs and undisclosed Mexican highway speeds.


As I proceeded to shit my pants and hyperventilate, I could not but thank the ///M Gods, who allowed my M3 to continue to accelerate at a balzingly fast clip while still going in a straight line, and ultimately no one had to clean my splattered guts off the side of the road.


Conclusion. The fact that I am here typing this, is only further proof that the traction control system not only interferes with our abilities to hoon our M3’s as desired, but interferes with the process of Darwinian natural selection itself.

Car is amazing... Driving through the downtown blocks yesterday, long story short trying to escape from those freaking parking enforcement three wheelers sneaking up on me. Didn't realize how fast I'm going through the corner and it just drifted the whole fucking way... not expecting it, but no sweat what so ever. The ease and control was amazing... Almost feel it's reading your mind...
Gonna keep it in the garage for a few days now to let the heat die down :P
