BMW X5 50i Muffler Delete Thoughts

I have a 2012 BMW X5 50i M-Sport package(4.4 Twin Power Turbo) and I would like everyone's honest opinion on a muffler delete
Unfortunately I can't afford an exhaust system for this car way to expensive.
All I would like to know is
How does it the muffler delete sound in the vehicle?
Does it bring any issues?
What kind of pipe should i use?
Does it void warranty?
What is it like at cruising speeds?
Just everyone's thought on this topic.

You will probably get better answers on the e70 forum, but here's my opinion.

That probably will sound close to what you'll hear.

There are mixed opinions about lost back pressure and whether it's good for bad for performance (Major exhaust companies tend to advertise loss of back pressure as a good thing)

Use Mandrel bent piping (preferably stainless steel)

Shouldn't void warranty unless they can prove it's the cause of your car's issue

Probably loud during driving. You can avoid drone if you attach a side J pipe to cancel out the resonance, but it requires specific measurements based on drone frequencies.

My apologies if I posted it in the wrong section. I'm new to the app and what not.. for 2 days I was having trouble posting...

Do you think I should do it?
I love the sound of the 4.4 muffler delete

I was mentioning at the car meet yesterday that I've never heard a bad sounding V8.
It's very hard to make a V8 sound bad (well, my opinion of bad).

I would do it. It's relatively cheap. Easily reversible. Just make sure you buy the same diameter piping as your OEM setup, buy a clamp so they don't need to weld anything onto your stock set up. If you hate it, you can easily reclamp the stock muffler back on.

It's also going to be insanely loud. What you need to ask yourself:

Are you going to piss your neighbors off?
Are you going to breeze through a yellow light past a cop who will pull you over for speeding, even though you weren't but your car was extra loud?

Do you mind drone? You're probably going to have a decent amount of it.

Below is a link that shows you what I'm talking about (J pipe). In short, it branches off the side of your straight pipe. The frequencies that cause drone flow into the j pipe and bounce back in the other direction. When the sound waves hit each other, they cancel each other out and cancel out the drone.

What matters is the length of the piping. There's a HELMHOLTZ formula that allows you to calculate the EXACT length of the pipe or you can make the J PIPE out of 2 pipes that slide back and forth and play around with the lengths.

OPTION 2: E Cut out. Not expensive. You get to be loud when you want to.

Good thing you said clamp because I was going to let the muffler guy weld it on...
I'm feeling the e cut out but I'm going to try the muffler delete for like a week and see if I like it
I heard a 650 with a muffler delete the other day in Manhattan and I feel in love.

And yes I want to piss all the neighbors off lol...
