Tire temperature.
Dear fellow owners)))
About two weeks ago i got my F15 finally coded and since that time cannot stop myself from falling on love with my car all over again! This morning i activated vehicle status TPM screen in iDrive which after coding shows individual tire pressure and its temperature, after driving for some time i discovered that my front-left ( driver's side ) tire is warmer by 10 degree then rear- right... While front-right and rear-left all have the same temperature. Interested in opinions. BTW as soon as i figure out how to upload photo, i will)

My unscientific explanation is that you are the only passenger in the X5 and there is more weight on the front left side of the X5 causing more friction? Just a guess lol.

Good question, i thought so as well, but it does not seemed to be. Car has 8000 mls on it, which would be enough to show uneven wear.

different temps (sunlight?, garage heater?) when parked? then if you adjusted your pressures in the same parking conditions would cause this. ie if you adjusted left-front at 78 degrees to the correct psi.

I've noticed the same thing, though the dealer told me that they have ordered a new sensor/module for mine. Not an individual tyre sensor, but the computer for it or something.

I didn't.
I have the Tyre Pressure option per your screenshot above, and they called me while the car was in transit and said they picked up on a fault with the feature, and that a new sensor or module would need to be fitted. To be honest, I haven't noticed anything wrong, and in fact only learned that tyre pressures and temps change with use. |

There is a strong chance the sensor is not that accurate and 5 degrees means nothing in reality. Your tire temps, if you just came off a drive or took it while driving, are actually quite low. For your info, my track tires didn't even work as designed until we hit +180 degrees F.
Generally speaking in typical street driving, the higher the pressure, the lower the temp. The opposite is true.

It can apparently. I did not code it myself, someone did it for me remotely. PM me if interested.

It guess time to fire up that computer then. I'd like to see some temps... I swear it didn't work for me when I coded the temps, but I'll look again.
Anyways I think it's normal to have different temperatures. Hell the tire pressures vary so much depending on the road I'm on. |

I redid some of the coding and from what I have seen with temperatures, when driving alone, the driver's front tire definitely heats up faster than the passenger rear tire, when I have a full car, they head up more evenly.
