Cheaper alternative to F80/F82

Hey guys, I'm not financially ready to get a BMW F80/F82 but I'm looking for something similar to the car in the less expensive range. What are some cars that are like the BMW F80/F82, that's quite performant for the price and relatively cheaper than a new F80/F82.

BMW M2 is as close as you'll get for thousands less... you get the exact same formula as the M4, with less power and less quality in parts (interior CF, CF roof, Merino leather etc.)

or, CPO LCI e92 m3.

Wow the Macan is really really tasty. Relatively quick 0-60 and quarter mile times and looks like a better overall car for winter.

Once you start adding options it can easily be a 80k Macan S

Just configured a GTS to my liking and it adds up to 80K CAD (60K USD). Fits perfectly in my price range of around 60K USD max. The M4 is around 100k CAD the way configured. I love how Porsche allows you to select some specefic options and not having to pay 5k simply to have a rear view camera.

I was very impressed with the Macan Turbo and I've decided to go with the Macan GTS as a daily driver. Good luxary, good drive and air suspension is nice to lower or lift the car when needed.

To save $ you can get Apply Play and skip the nav if you have an I-phone. The I-phone nav is good enough for me.

I personally think they are a POS but they are giving away Ghibli's at well over $20K off sticker.

Yeah. Also the Audi SQ5 or BMW xDrive 50i are also great choices as I found.

Definitely agree with most here,
335i, 435i, M235i, 135i, 5th gen Camaro, latest Mustang, last generation CTS-V perhaps, Audi S4/5, Chevy SS, Pontiac GTO, Pontiac G8? for starters.

Obviously some of them are getting old now, so finding low mileage, unmolested versions is going to be a little tougher.

Hey guys thank you all for your opinions. I know looking at the performance SUVs is a really big difference compared to a nice 2dr coupe but I just think I love it... a little less performance but a great DD and winter car, I think it would suit me more.

335i, you can get them for an absolute steal right now since they are moving to the 340i badging...dealers have to unload them. My coworker just leased a decently optioned one (msport, nav, etc) for $450/month.

Then add the pure stage 2 turbos and other support parts to get 540whp which would give even a tuned m4 a run for its money

Chevy SS sedan tempted me. If I could've found one equipped as I wanted & not red or black, I might have bought it.
Considered ordering one but local dealer told me it took him approx. 6 months from ordering to delivery (from OZ) to get the one on his lot.

Well, OP has indicated he wants an SUV, but if others are attracted to the title and are looking.. Get a second hand E93 or even a second hand 2015 F8X. You get an M, save some coin. Alternative for new is an M2 as others have said.

Remember, the GLA45 is also considered an SUV. That is a fantastic car and do pretty well at the track- if you can get over owning a 4 cyl.

Yes and it's cheaper and more fun than the Macan, does'nt look as good though.

Didnt you start the thread saying you wanted f8x performance for less money? How is a macan a good idea?

It is 328 performance for m3 money.

My suggestions are a 996 or 997.1 TT or c6 z06.
