Speaking strictly objectively about the M4 model and not at all digging on the guy's car, I 100% agree. On the subject of engine note, I think it ends up like:

N54 = decent
N55 = heavenly
S55 = oh god what have they done

All that said, my 335 makes half the HP of the gorgeous car in the video

Nice vid and car.. I can't wait to see what's going to happen with the F8x platform in the upcoming months, lots of noise will be made from the NY/NJ/PA area...

That is pretty damn impressive for a m4. Battling GTRs with those numbers.

Part of me loves this, the other BMW purist part of me says standing 1/4 mile is not what our cars are intended for. Ehhhh either way that's crazy awesome

This sounds way better, dare I say not bad at all...but you got to keep in mind the 10 sec. M4 has a non resonated set-up plus downpipes, which just makes sound really loud, like a straight pipe...

People need to stop complaining about the sound. It really isn't that bad. Yeah, it ain't a Ferrari or an AMG, but people said the same thing about the E46, and how it sounded horrible. Now it's a highly praised M Car. Give this car a chance, it's putting down impressive numbers.

Huge investment to achieve a 10.90 - pretty cool, but definitely not what these cars are suited for.

The M4 is an amazing car, there's no denying that. However when talking strictly about sound, there's no other way to put it--it is that bad. It practically doesn't even sound like an I6; you don't just go from the sound of the S65 and then this--regardless of performance upgrades, talking purely about sound, it pales in comparison.

I don't really understand this train of thought. Yes we're all aware that BMW's are built upon the premise of handling, forgoing straight line speed to offer dynamic road feedback and the ability to carve up back roads, however what's wrong with having both?

Porsche does it, yet the 911 still handles amazingly. Are you going to tell me Porches aren't built with an emphasis on handling either?

Best of both worlds if you ask me; if it's capable doing so without sacrificing handling ability, what's the issue.

There is no train of thought, it's the number 1 excuse BMW drivers used to make when BMW would lose every 1/4 mile comparison back in the days.
