Retrofit Sunglasses holder possible?

Has anyone successfully retrofitted the dropdown sunglasses holder into the ceiling center console? Dealer said the parts could be ordered but made no promises it would work.

I'd be interested in knowing as well.

Mine gets stuck all the time trying to open it. Not sure if it's suppose to be like this or not. Also it doesn't seem to fit many different sizes. Only some glasses will fit.

Mine is gets stuck as well. I even asked the Encore representative during the 2nd delivery. You need a Ph.D. to open that tiny holder. My Oakley nano wire can't even fit!

When opening, press the button in an upward motion and towards the windshield. Voila!

Good luck.

Really? My Ray-Bans fit nicely, they don't rattle and I've never had a problem opening the door. I've only had my X5 for about six weeks, but this hasn't been a problem for me.

(I'm sure now it will fail. )

I total agree with ya. In 2016 that was part of the storage option which was part of the "Enhanced" Premium package. I think what I'm more upset with is the fact that I didn't look at my invoice and missed the fact they charged me $399 for "Ride Green Certified" (nitrogen in the tires)...now that boggles my mind.

The wife's Ray Ban aviators fit, but none of my Oakley wires do.
