1200 mile service importance
How important is it getting this done at 1200 miles? I am looking at a car with 16000 miles where 1200 mile service was done at 6000 miles.. Price is good, and most importantly color, feature list is exactly how I would order it new.
I know I am probably going to get responses like run away. There is a balance of factory warranty, another 34k miles or little under 3 years of use. Planning on buying it. I checked the oil level since last service and it doesn't look like any oil was consumed in 4K miles. So what are your thouhgts? I am thinking either lowering the price more, or asking the dealer to include extended warranty as peace of mind... Thanks guys.

From what I know, a M car cannot be CPO'ed or get extended warranties unless it got the 1200 mile service. Double check with their business department before moving forward with this.

why would someone wait until 6000 miles for the 1200 mile service???

Thanks guys, 1200 service was done at 6000 miles. I don't understand why someone would wait that long. I am thinking of abandoning this altogether and going with a new one.

If the person was neglecting enough to go that overboard on a free thing that is completely not intrusive to ownership nor a burden, I don't want to imagine what they did the other 10,000 miles.
Im sure there are at least 300 other cars for you to buy.
