Nitrogen Tank for JRZ / MCS / Moton Suspension & Tires

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about purchasing an nitrogen (n2) tank for my JRZ RS Pro suspension.

I found this nifty N2 Kit: http://www.rjracecars.com/Nitrogen-S...-Prodview.html

Shock Pressure Gauge: http://www.rjracecars.com/Shock-Pres...-Prodview.html

It looks like a decent setup for a cheap price. My only concern is placement of the remote canisters and ease of attaching the pressure gauge. Anybody else use a portable N2 kit that can share their setup? Concerns for adjusting pressure at the track? Does the tank need to be secured in a cage or case while at the track?

Can't help you with the remote reservoir mounting, etc. (I wish I could...lol), but the tank mounting is very important. You need to secure it so it can't tip over. The business end of the tank (regulator, valve, etc.) needs to be protected from all impacts as if it isn't, you have a high pressure stream of nitrogen gas shooting out the end. It's a rocket motor at that point and the tank is the missile. Put the tank in a cage or secure the top and bottom so it can't tip over and the regulator and tank valve need to be protected.

You can pick up a nitrogen tank at any airgas or basic welding supply shop. I have one for shocks on my off road toys...

As far as a regulator, nothing fancy there either. Thinking I have this one, http://www.polyperformance.com/Poly-...ogen-Regulator
But again very generic part, thinking eBay would have them as well.

The little fill gauge is where lots of $$$$ come up as well. To be honest, I almost never use mine anymore. I just set the output on the regulator and call it good. From years of doing this it's the same value as the gauge on the filler, just at the tank vs the fill port. That's been working for me.

Years ago I thought this was all specialty stuff, it not. Just tanks, gauges, hoses and fittings.

I don't carry the tank with me, no real need.

If you want a small little on board system, check out PowerTank.com stuff, http://powertank.com/products/sfID1/29

Hope this helps

Reviving this post. Anybody have any recommendations they've done in the last year or so? I was looking at the power tank stuff. Pricey but it looks like it will get the job done?

I'd prefer to have something I can take to the track and to adjust as needed.
