Why no shift lights for a 6MT?
I didn't see this question asked here, so I decided to ask it!
Basically I saw the vert ad, with the M-DCT that has shift lights and I'm like...wow how nice! Let's not put the shift lights for the 6MT!! Anyone know what's up with this? Is it in all M-DCTs? or just the vert (I wouldn't think so)... |

Yeah.
It looks like a F1 car with the lights.

Not sure if there is a video showing them in action but the following link shows the shift lights above the rev counter:

just makes it a little more fun, and I'm a little disappointed that 6mt has no shift-lights... and plus, the 6MT ain't that much slower, it's gearing is pretty equivalent to the M-DCT, but just a liiiiiiiitle longer. |

The thing about the E92 M3 is that the peak horsepower is also at the redline, so realistically, there is no "Optimal" shift point that when you shift up you will hit the max HP, so those lights are kinda useless in my mind

just easier for the initial stages when you're getting used to shifting @ 8400 by looking @ the stupid rev-counter, until you get a grasp of things and relate engine pitch to rev count...so that you can do it closed eyes after a while |
