Brake Rotor Groove

I noticed today that I have a groove in the passenger front rotor. It definitely catches the nail if you run your finger across it. I don't even have 2000 miles on the car yet. Thoughts?

Is it possible that a rock remained within the pad/caliper temporarily and marked the rotor?

With a new vehicle, there is nothing wrong with having your local BMW tech take a look. It is unlikely that they will replace the rotor unless you can demonstrate braking issues.
