Audio system HDD storage upgrade possible?
I tried a quick search and didn't turn up anything.
Has anyone successfully change the 20GB internal hard drive to something larger? Thx |

Start reading here, first step is upgrading the size of the hard drive (looks to be harder than it was in CIC) then to figure out how to expand the music partition to a larger size.

Wont it much easier to put all your music and video files on a 1TB external drive($60) and plug it into the center console. That's what I did.

I think the internal drive is actually 200GB just, 20GB is partitioned for music, and you can change the drive
So yeah definite just attach an external HDD, iPod, or something. |

The only benefit to the internal drive is it's allows you to build a favs playlists one song at a time. When listening to music off the USB favs button is disabled. I'm in the process of converting my entire music collection to FLAC, 20GB not enough for a decent FLAC collection.
Don't thinking I'm going to delve into that procedure on bimmerfest, that's just too much. |
