Picked up an E92 M3 6spd
Couldn't help myself... 1 owner every option 6speed mint car....
-Undecided on front BBK, just want 6 pot slotted 2pc rotors and DTc 70 pads w motul 660 always were good for me -Full tint Inc windshield -cheap axel/catback, had a corsa on the e93 me it was perfect around town and in city but was way way to quiet wot above 5k -alcantara wheel, shifter ebrake and maybe I'll do a custom dash. -hard poly engine trans and diff mounts -I'm gonna make custom pedals for the pedal box to facilitate easier heel toe -possibly consider a race seat just so I can get 2-3in lower Thinking ill do this w the 91oct and 8600rpm then possibly follow it up in spring with a cheap rear system http://www.turnermotorsport.com/show...oftware-bundle need advice from other pro level drivers on the BBK for fast intensive heat generating tracks, tire will be PS2 grip level. Stoptech has a 380mm 6pot kit for 3700 fronts at turner but would like to know what kind of clearance there is on the stock 19s. rather have smaller setup so head can flow up and out of the rotors and caliper rather than cram it in and insulate... Consider AP Racing BBKs if you are serious about tracking the car and have the money - there are two choices offered by Essex. Given your 3700 quote, the few extra hundred dollars I paid for mine isn't too big a stretch, considering it came with 18 mm pads, SS lines, and gorgeous J-hook rotors.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=921567 I have the Radi-CAL 5000R kit, using the CP9660 caliper. The 9668 does not clear the 19" Competitition package wheels, but the 9660 does. I have the 19" ZCP street wheels and I have a set of Apex 18"x10 EC-7 ET25s that fit fine (the EC-7 will even clear the 9668 caliper). Essex has a template kit you can use to check your 19"s. Their service is top notch, all around. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1126953 I am not a "pro" level driver by any means though, but the 15 or so track days I've put on since I've gotten the kit, it's made me a better driver because I don't worry about brake fade ever, and the pedal is always consistent and there when I need it. Any mistakes are mine alone. Far better drivers than me use the older kit and have 0 issues.

Congrats! Great condition and mileage for a 2008.
I upgraded my brakes to Brembo GT 6/4 380mm and never had clearance issues. My TE37s are also 19s and have similar offsets to OEM 19s.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!
-As for the watch, I figured this place would have some watch snobs since all the other car forums I frequent are filled. -guy saying the PS2/supersports suck, im a private driver coach and overwhelming majority of my clients run these, not very efficient to hop out of a car doing 1.3g's then into a clients car that can barely brake the 1g barrier. besides they are kick ass tires.... -Those brembos on the volks look great, seeing a 255 up front I guess thats with a 265 rear to help cure the understeer? -RedPriest, thank you for the lengthy response. I have a lot of considerations to make, this is not going to be one of my "race cars" but a car I dont have to make heat considerations for, especially the brakes on the track and have fun with on the private country roads. The one AP kit alledgely saves 9lbs per corner which is amazing, they dont mention how much of that is rotating however. the 2nd major reason why I love the carbon ceramics are how much agile the car is at higher speeds from the light rotors, does anyone have or retrofit a CCB kit off another car? It would be worth spending a little more if a set from a ZR1/rs5/gt3/new m3 would fit over simplifying here but the caliper mainly alters the pedal characteristics, assuming all others being equal, the pads have approx the same surface area and leverage between stock and similar dia kits, perhaps im being grossly optimistic here but i suppose just doing those nice 2pc j-hooks some SS lines fluid and pads I may be able to get away with spending under 3k total. I have no intention to do anything with the rear brakes besides pads. A little cooling goes a LONG way, Are their provisions for a simple, safe and streetable cooling duct? since i dont pay for track time i can go and try a setup out then get make an adjustment later, i just dont want to piss with it for a few months and throw away a ton of money trying. |

To be honest, most go to a BBK for cosmetics. The OEM brakes are fine for track use as long as you swap pads, fluid and lines. I wouldn't move on to a BBK until you move on to a R compound tire or slicks. I would start with this before you bone up for a BBK.

I picked up an E92 M3 recently too! mine was a good deal... 2008 with carbon roof, 6 speed and only 55k miles with 2 owners dark blue/black I forgot the specific color code... couldn't pass it up for the price. I hope the value goes up in the next few years on it, im going to garage her and weekend drive her. Had the E46 M3 2 years ago and needed to get back into the M cars. Congrats on the purchase!
