Visor Warnings
Hi all! Over in the corvette forum someone has made some vinyl decals that have the Corvette logo on them which cover the ugly warnings on the visors. Do you know if anyone has these for the X5? Thanks!

If they bother you that much, just remove them. I do believe a damp rag with alcohol left to sit on the warnings breaks down the adhesive.

Not sure about decals but removing visor was discussed here http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ighlight=visor and here http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ighlight=visor
I also know, in US those stickers are mandated and i think you need to buy a new visor when returning from lease.( if it is leased)

Yes, they are required from the factory, but no one's gonna check for them at time of lease return in actuality.

You can troll eBay for occasional visors, like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-X5-F15-2...FV8smy&vxp=mtr
I'd try Goo Gone or Goof Off as they seem to have milder solvents. Also, heat helps with removal of all stickers. A blowdryer and patience goes a long way. |

Removing them is one option, but it can and usually does leave a slight reminder of what was there. If you want the cleanest option, order yourself some RoW visors (blanks) and replace. That's what I did on my A4...haven't bothered on the X5.

Left - 51448059049
Right - 51448059050 These should be label-less, anthracite (black).

I ordered visor stickers for another car from the web site above. The owner appears willing to do custom work. |

I was just thinking the same. I can't even tell you if mine has a sticker - I am sure it does, but never noticed or paid attention.

Thanks for the part numbers! It really does bother me. I'm not sure if it's just because I did it in my vette so now I want the clean look. To put 2 giant warning labels in my face on a 80k car just doesn't seem right. I think I'll look into ordering a new pair but once they arrive I may remove the decals just to see what the result looks like.

yes. i have extreme attention to detail in vehicles and i like everything to match the colorway of the vehicle. a big fat yellow, red, white and black detail right above my line of site is more distracting than a safety warning and looks pretty ugly. i don't even purchase children cars seats that are littered with warning labels. lastly those labels are not there for the drivers or passengers but for the manufacturer to mitigate liability in case some idiot gets injured from not being seated and buckled in properly in a vehicle.

Agreed. Especially true if you're tall. I'm 6'2" and I found them especially annoying in my A4 and replaced the visors within a few months of owning. They don't seem to bother me as much on the X5. Comes down to personal preference I guess and where you do/don't want to spend the dollars.

i don't mind spending the couple of bucks on a set of visors to delete this annoyance from my life. i mean we spend hundreds of dollars modifying or customizing the vehicle in other areas such as painting reflectors or switching to euro bumpers or installing other bits and doodads that i don't see why one would not consider removing this eyesore.
