Help removing HVAC trim on e92?

Hey guys,

Been lurking a long time, but finally purchased a 2011 e92 M3 two weeks ago.

The car came with a broken center vent adjustment tab so I replaced that myself. In doing so, even using proper trim removal tools, I managed to mar the finish on the HVAC trim panel at the upper-right corner when trying to pop the wood trim off.

Wondering if any of you have removed this panel and could let me know where to attack it from? I've looked at the replacement online, appears possibly two tabs at the top and two fork guides at the bottom. I am going to replace it with a new one, just looking for any tips form those whom have removed it before.

Many thanks!

Just pry it from the sides with a wide plastic trim remover.

Thanks - I had seen that video earlier and noticed it looks a bit different with the radio up above, etc. I just had the dash trim out for something else and was able to pop that unit out like they described in that video. Now I just have to see about separating the control unit from the trim piece when I get the new one.

Easy, remove the trim above starting by the start button and going toward the passenger door. Disconnect the center switches and the start button before fully removing the panel. Then just push it out from the back. I wouldn't try removing the hvac unit without first removing the trim directly above it.
