Can't get comfortable in driver seat

I'm struggling to find a comfortable seating position for my lower back in my E92 M3. I've moved the air ballast (lumber adjustment) up/down etc and just can't seem to get the right setting for any drives longer than an hour.

Has anyone else had these issues? Can the support be modified?

A/S/L = "Age/Sex/Location"

don't think he cares whether you have cloth or leather….only if you have "hookers" in the trunk

They are much better than the standard 3 series seats. But I had a 5 series with the sports package seats and those were amazing.

Why not just buy some sort of cushion to insert between your shirt and the seatback? I'm sure they sell stuff like that for this very reason, and for people with chronic lower back pain.

Short of having an interior/upholstery shop start shaving down the foam or inserting new pieces, I don't know what else to say other than "give it time and you will get used to it".

Problem solved. Surprisingly, it makes a difference.

I imagine your issue is girth. I am 5'10" and I fit

Yep, the seat doesn't accommodate chubbs.

I'm taller and a bit bigger, so this may not apply, but I find that my back is more prone to hurt if I am driving with my wallet in my back pocket. Taking it out helps immensely.

Dang, don't read this thread then. Lots of love for the seats!

I don't have problems with lower back, but I cant get the seat low enough. Feels like I am riding a horse in this thing.

Try adjusting the angle of the seat bottom as well, not just the lumbar or seat back angle. Otherwise just drive faster

Roughly same size. A little heavier. I can get my seat plenty low. Not sure if seats same. I have 11 ZCP - exec, comfort, all that stuff. E92. This is surprising. We're not tall.

Don't ever sit in a f8x m3/4 seat then...it feels night and day different than the e92 seats which are average at best.

At least you don't have a e93, similar seats but slightly less comfortable.

I'm 5'11" 205lbs (not chubbs) and I fit fine. The seat feels comfortable to me. I do agree that they don't go low enough, the seating position feels more like an SUV than a sports coupe. When I got my first E92 I had to Google it to see if I was missing something because it felt so weird.

I should also mention that I don't have a wife or kids. That might contribute to the wallet induced pain and detract a bit from the back pain you are experiencing
