Instrument Cluster went crazy today.

While stopped at a light the instrument cluster started to intermittently blank out and seem to reset. It did this until I stop/started the car. It has not done it since. I am have a video of it acting up, but the video may be too large. Any ideas?

There was another post just like this yesterday, so you are not the only one having issues . At least two people in the other thread reported the instrument cluster acting up. Their issues seem more serious than yours as their cluster had a kind of it's own with lights turning on and off and the needles intermittently moving. Let me try and find the other thread.

Actually, what is happening in the video is very similar to the fit that my cluster did. My bad for not seeing the other thread. Hope it's a software fix. I guess I hold off with any coding until this is taken care of. Someone told me it could be a faulty KOMBI.

Hopefully all of you guys with issues can get it sorted out. I can only image the frustration you all are feeling with the purchase of a brand new vehicle and having issues like this. Some mentioned that a software update can fix the problem and it looks to be only isolated to 2016 models. I have a 2015 and have not experienced any instrument cluster issues. Good luck!

I've witnessed SubjectMatter's going haywire as well, oddly enough only when driving through a very specific part of San Francisco. I think he's gotten it fixed now, but here's the thread which includes a video I filmed below, and another he filmed below that. If it's the same problem, might be worth going back to your dealer and asking for a fix - as I understand it, it's a problem with the maps... but your dealer should know more.

Left her overnight at the dealership and they said that they had a couple of faults pop on the instrument cluster. Told me that they needed to load some new software and that should take care of it. We'll see how it goes. So far, so good :-) Hope that is all it was.

Close. Production was September 2015. They had to do a little research as they were not familiar with the problem, but since I took video of what it was doing, there was no question about it. They did say that they showed a couple of faults that went away once the new software was loaded. Fingers crossed. Electronics issues can be a pain in the butt.

So far so good. I've had the car back for a couple of days and the biggest issue was that they reset everything back to factory in the process.

I had it happen again, and strangely it happened when driving through the same intersection as last time with the navigation system active. It does seem to be navigation related though. Since its not that close to the house I have not attempted to drive there with no active navigation to see if its that specifically. Maybe a glitch in the database and the data being sent to the cluster makes it go crazy?

it was not a raised highway. Would be interesting to see if another F8x would show the same or if this is specific to my car.

Lol, I was leaving SF and heading to San Jose when the dashboard went on/off. I was on Guadalupe Fwy exiting into Julian St.
