Added the numbers to the performance figures.

Best regards, south

Nice review, thanks.

4.3 for the racecar with four doors.

There was just another nice review of the sedan that was done in the last two weeks. It had low to mid 4's as well. The coupe and sedan are pretty close in weight.

The E92 335i handles stiffer and more accurate than the E90 IMHO.

Back in the day, the sedan was always considered a better handling car due to its more robust chassis... sedans at one point were the rockets of the 80s and early 90s.

Both cars are wonderful... I got the bug.
I remember reading somewhere that one of the engineers working for BMW M said the coupe platform benefits from being stiffer than the sedan. How much this affects handling, who knows?

I wish I could remember where I read this.

Nice summary, "A racecar with four doors"!

Unfortunately more negative comments about the shifter and feel. Not the best news for all the 6MT fans and club members.

Only for members that haven't driven one yet. Nice side blow nonetheless.

There has been a lot of comments about the steering feel and we have all discussed it. Some believe the journalists, some don't, some think it is quite subjective and perhaps will like it longer term. The same can be said about the shifter, some good comments, some bad. There is no harm pointing out the negative comments. Your reply smells a bit of fanboy-ism as it implies that everyone who has driven 6MT likes it. So just to be clear, I don't think you are a fanboy but you need more balance.

I honestly believe that if you are very concerned about the feel of the MT it may been a good reason to try it and perhaps wait for M-DCT.

You know that the founding member of the 6MT club has to be a MT fanboy, don't you?

Seriously, I was only implying 6MT club members and fans: If one is favouring manual transmission in general the M3's MT won't disappoint him/her as it's pretty good.
On the other hand I second your last paraphrase, everybody still being indecisive on the transmission should try out both and might well go for DCT. Balanced enough?

Best regards, south

Nice read!!! And goes to show you that BMW should NOT be advertising a 0 – 60 mph time of 4.8 seconds, that is dismal!!!!
