Non ZCP car with ZCP wheels pictures

Hi there,

I have a 2008 E90 M3 with ZCP wheels that is lowered using B&G springs that I recently purchased. The car is too low for my taste (scraping no matter how sideways I go into a drive way) and wanted to reinstall the stock springs but am fearful it will look silly at the stock 2008 ride height. I searched and couldn't find any pictures of ZCP wheels on a stock height E92 or E90 M3.

If someone has had or has pictures of this set up could you please post a picture for me to see what they look like? Thanks!

Matt

Why would it look silly? There were 19" wheels (style 220M) as factory equipment on non-ZCP cars.

19" wheels on stock suspension doesn't look silly at all:

Aren't we only talking about 1/4-1/2" in height? 10mm?!?
I don't really see how it would look silly, but it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Yeah I just didn't know how bad it would look with a bigger gap. Plus I have spacers too. I've seen them in person with the 19" 220 but your car looks very nice.

My front is 1.5" lower, and the rear is 1" lower. I just replaced all the underbody plastic to the tune of $500 and don't like the idea of paying for that again. Plus I like the stock ride comfort better. The B&G is pretty harsh over bumps/dips. I'm old, lol. 36.

Looks great!!! That's what I was looking for. You have galvanized me to switch them back. Do you have spacers too or stock?

Not my car, just a generic photo from Wikipedia.

I have an actual ZCP sedan so I figured it wouldn't be fair to post a photo.

Yes there is a noticeable difference with ZCP wheels on a non-ZCP cars at least to me. Having had 359's on my stock e93, it never quite looked right. The 10mm drop is subtle but definitely noticeable especially in the front.

Of course, I'm sure 99% of the people wouldn't notice it. I just do because I'm nuts.

Dinan springs

Toss a set of Dinan springs on...just slightly lower than OEM ZCP ride height and near-OEM ride quality.

Yeah that was exactly my concern because I am VERY particular with my all my cars, and I was afraid it would look silly. The stock height Jerez black car above looks very nice to me how we've so that alleviates some of my concern.

I'm going to drop it off and eas Thursday or some time next week to get it done. I will post some before and afters here for others to compare.

I appreciate your and everyone else's opinions and help.

That's a great idea, I'd it looks silly to me I will do just that. I'm really looking forward to the stock ride as well. I'm turning in to a baby. Lol.

I challenge anyone who claims they can spot a non-ZCP car based on ride height alone. It's just absurd that you can tell a 10mm height difference on something that is 5.5 ft tall and 13 ft long.

It's like climate change denial..if you say it frequent enough, people would believe it. Anyways here's my ZCP poser...10mm extra wheel wheel gap folks...

Seeing these pics makes me homesick...forgot how close neighbors were...double attached...Sunset eh? I see you even got one with the sun out...must've been in the AM before the fog rolls in
BTW, your car has been reported to the ZCP authorities...you can expect a YUUUGE fine for 1st offense...jail time for 2nd...and a free trip to SQ (see Bastille by the Bay) on the third strike and out...Bon Voyage!

Challenge accepted.

Some people that are very particular (or insane) can see the difference in the front wheel gap. Will the rest of the world know? Obviously not. But if you park a ZCP car next to a non ZCP with 359's the difference is definitely noticeable.

Could you get any further away? (j/k)

Love those sunny days in the sunset. But I see that marine layer lurking in the background....

I own ZCP and having cleaned my wheels many times i know the gap between the rubber and the fender eyes closed. Not trying to be unpleasant but i would easily spot your non zcp suspension height at an intersection if we crossed paths. Somebody else might not, but if they saw your car next to a zcp at an intersection no doubt they will see the difference too.

He is cheating. The car is parked on a slight incline making the front gap minimized.
Its all in the photo.

An incline does the opposite in this situation. A downward incline would do what you mention.

Also, car is on stilts! Where's the flood?

oh no! My life is over! I have no street cred whatsoever at this point!

Time to spend another $40k to get a proper ZCP car with intangible performance benefits.

Street cred gone? Priceless!
Let us know when you've finished spending the $$$ to get this car done right!

well you may miss home, but I'm sure you don't miss the fantastic progressive taxation industrail complex they have going on here.

Here's an example of a outdoor urinal they just installed next to a muni train platform. So instead of solving the homeless industrial complex issue, that causes the city to smell like urine and feces, they decided to allow them to stand at the station and have their piss poor aim piss all over your feet while you walk by:
