When to get One Year Service

I did a European Delivery pick up last year on July 16, 2015 at Welt and received my car back in the US on September 21, 2015.

For the one year service, can I get it scheduled at my local dealer on July 16, 2016 or do I have to wait for September 21 when I got the 1,200 mi. break in service done?

I also currently have only 4,800 mi on the car, which is no where near the 10,000 mi. they recommend for the one year service.

Thanks

Garage List
2023 BMW M2  [9.17]
2018 Brabus Smart  [10.00]
2021 BMW 330d  [10.00]
The car will tell you when it needs to go in. If you look in the iDrive, there is a vehicle status submenu that will give you the date/mileage you should have your next service performed at.

Same boat as you. Did ED pickup on July 7th, received car second week of September this past year. I've got around 6,000 on the car, and the dealer just called and said my car told them it needed service. Yet, on startup, my car still says I'm ~4,000 miles from needing service. So no idea, lol. I highly doubt after getting my oil changed at 900 miles that I need another change at 5,900, but maybe I do. On the other hand, my E93 M3 loved gulping oil and always needed another two quarts in between service intervals.

edit: my car has split personality disorder. it sent the notice saying it needed service to the dealer, yet on startup it says it doesn't need it. lol. I don't track the car, it isn't tuned, and it doesn't get beat on, so who knows.
