Wtb - 135 BBK
Looking to upgrade the OEM 135 brakes for my track oriented MY09 135.
Wondering if there is anyone out there that has gone down this road and is looking to offload their BBK, or go back to stock? Have looked into the usual suspects, Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon and Stoptech, all of which would be ideal, but finding it hard to justify spending 25% of the value of the car on a front only upgrade! Keen on some feedback / persuasion to look further at the Nashin BBK... For fitment tips, I'm currently running M261 track wheels and Works VS XX 18's on the street... Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller...?! Cheers Guys. Last edited by Hendow; 06-14-2016 at 01:55 AM.. |

I'm in North America and have the set you're looking for (stoptechs). Don't know if you're willing to have it shipped though. Might cost a pretty penny.
Look at the FS section. |

There is a guy selling front 6 pots and rear 2 pots on Gumtree for 135i at $1,350 ono, dirt cheap if you ask me:
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-det...dId=1114723735 Just do a rebuild on the caliper seals, repaint some nice and shinny color, chuck on some DS3000 and ready to rock and roll on the track tarmac =]

I have just fitted wilwood BBK front kit with 6 pot callipers and a 355mm 2 piece rotor and aluminium hats.Th kit also coms with stainless braided brake lines. The callipers are radial mounted also, so I think they are great value for money @ the $3350 AUD that I landed them for. The 18 inch 261 just clears them. By the way Im the guy selling the old brakes on gumtree which are in awesome condition.

Thanks Guys,
$iriu$black, thanks for your reply, and yep the (your) StopTechs are certainly on the radar, although you are right, the shipping is horrendous. Might be heading to MA in the coming months, so who knows, I might even collect them from you?! EdDie, yep those brakes on Gumtree are the ones on the car at present. Dane083, here is a shot with the new wheels, which currently provide 15mm clearance to the inside of the wheel face from the outer surface of the OEM calliper: [IMG][/IMG] What do you mean by 'O faced'? Coupe32, I'd be keen to hear your feedback on the Wilwoods as I have them on my other track car...? 135 and Questionable, thanks for your PM feedback, I will be in touch! |
