F82 M4 & E60 M5 at Bedford Autodrome
So, yesterday me and a mate decided that rather than go to work we would at the last minute take ourselves off to Bedford Autodrome for a track day. Heavy rain was forecast but what the hell - we went anyway. He has an E60 M5 and me in my M4. Both cars are stock apart from K&N drop in filters and an MPE on mine.
Managed about 12 dry laps in the morning and then some very interesting and challenging driving in the afternoon. I must say if you've not done a track day in the wet I highly recommend it. There is no way I could drive like that on wet public roads and finding the traction limits of the car was very interesting - and at times scary. hitting massive puddles of standing water at 152mph on the straight was a tad unnerving i must say but great fun as well. Im editing the go pro video right now but in the meantime here are some pictures from the day. Oh and for those that like me who dont see the point in track day pads and upgraded fluid. in the dry morning laps my brakes were completely gone - and i mean gone/useless/dead after 3 laps! next time i shall invest in the right gear. so here's the pictures, ill update this post with the video tomorrow when I'm finished it.. great fun, cant wait to do it again soon.. stay tuned for the video of a very wet track day in sunny England!

nice one Jim, looks like you both had a fun day regardless of the shite weather.
fair amount of body roll on the old HMS M5 though eh.... I bet it must have been scary as hell aquaplaning in that bad boy at 150+

Awesome pictures. I'd love to own an E60 M5 one day. Expensive proposition, but still. Both very nice cars, looking forward to the vids.

Cool! I loved my e60 M5. And, I wouldn't go back. The M4 is better in every way (IMO) except for sound. I certainly don't miss getting gas every 150 miles.
