Ultimate M3 Convertible drift car from France

The guys from EliteWrap.fr in Cannes, France showed me the following ridiculously cool BMW M3 drift car. They designed the wrap and the looks of the car with the owner.

I have never seen such a thing. The engine is a GM V8 sticking out of the bonnet and the complete car has been custom made for drifting. The engine is a 4.5 liter Chevrolet LSX376 with a Whipple compressor producing 900hp and 1100Nm built by Arceau Matter Motorsport.

The suspension is a KW competition kit Stage 3 specifically made for the car. The wide angle kit is from Wisefab. The wrap and design was done by EliteWrap in Cannes. The vehicle was prepared by Garage Olivier.

They worked on the car for more than a year. The owner which is Benjamin Boulbes is now running it in the French championship, King of Europe, and more drifting competitions. His team is Propuls' Team 8; http://drift-events.fr/benjamin-boulbes.html

Drifting is cool to watch, but why destroy an M3 to turn it into a drift car? There are plenty of cars that are better suited for drifting out of the factory (Mustang, Camaro, 350Z, etc.). You don't see too many Ferraris, Maseratis, AMG Mercedes Benzes, or Jaguar F types in drift competitions....

I'm guessing it was a early model M3 with a blown motor. So basically they bought the chassis. Because why would they pick up an e93 instead of an e92? No roof support, so need to do more to stiffen up the car.

Because why not?

M3s are cheap now, with a good chassis and setup.

You can drift beautifully with a Miata. This guy did a great job at doing what he wanted to do.
