Launch Control

Does anyone know how to remap the launch RPM? 5k is too much, if the road isn't sticky then it will just burnout. Launching it 3500 would help a lot

Thought you can adjust with 500rpm step with the left stalk? Never tried LC myself though, prefer to spend the wear in the curves...😊

More threads than usual being created these days asking questions that are answered in the manual or M3 Supplement -- have we reached the point where M3s are being bought used in droves and the cars aren't coming with documentation?

But yes, as mentioned above, you can adjust the RPM with the left stalk while you're holding the throttle down. Can't remember whether you push it up/down or in/out though.

I may get flamed for this but it's been my observation, even since I joined in February, that as these cars get cheaper they are falling into the hands of the less educated. These people are unwilling to read any documentation nor do any research themselves. They also cannot post a thread that contains proper grammar or punctuation. The millennials have arrived.

Not calling out the OP, it's just a general feeling after reading this forum every day.

I tried the bottom left stalk today. Left/Right Front/Back nothing changed. I quickly got off the gas pedal because I felt like revving and holding a rev at the 5500-ish was bad.

Here's the relevant section right out of the M3 Supplement. If you can't make it work, I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe others with DCT experience can help. Make sure you're not just holding the stalk in a particular direction. I think you need to repeatedly press it in the direction you want for each 100 RPM change. Or if you did that, maybe try holding it. The note about pressing past the resistance point is also key. If you use the stalk for cruise control, you want to press it the same way that achieves a 5 MPH change rather than 1 MPH.
