E92 M3 and Car Seats

So I have done some searching but I didn't find the answers I was looking for.

Can I fit a car seat in the back of my E92 M3? Does anyone have any pictures of this setup? I am guessing if anyone has got it to work the car seat is probably rear facing.

Thanks in advance!

Recaros performance sport car seats!
I have two forward facing in the back of my e92. They fit great. Plenty of room for the kids. I'm 6-2 as well and no issues. I can try to add a photo later

I also have two car seats in the back. No issues at all...in fact it is easier to get them in and out of my M3 than my Audi A4. The coupe has large doors plus when you fold down the seats you have a lot more room than a 4 door sedan.

The set we have is for age 2 plus a weight requirement (laws may have changed now). But I'm sure there are rear facing out there that work as well.

I have the rear-facing Chico keyfit 30 for my 10 month old daughter in my E92. On vacation currently so can't take pic but it fits fine although not a lot of passenger room.

Yeah the Chico key fit 30 was great for the little ones. Used that in my STi. Very convenient and user friendly the way they snap in the base and stroller. Rear facing they do take up a bit more room but again should be doable. Check them out.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Much appreciated. I dont normally have passengers in the back so a car seat that takes up a lot of space isnt a problem.

the rear facing are more about how much front to back space they take up and force the front seats forward.
my wife had a bit less room in the front when we had the rear facing in the back of my STi...

ok here is our set up. again we started using them for our kids at 1yrs old, but i think the law is now 2 plus a certain weight so don't quote me and CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS. i believe we can eventually use these as booster too with the regular seat belt so it should be the last type of child seat we'll need. i did have to remove the rear seat head rests for them to sit flush against the seats, other than that they fit great.

I'm expecting my first early next year so I'll be looking to fit a rear facing seat in the back of my e90 m3.

I'm up for suggestions as well. Pictures of others fitting rear facing seats could also help me keep the wife at ease

Dnoble, like someone said earlier the Chicco key fit 30 is a great infant seat. Had the same one an when he turned 1 (his weight an size allowed to do it early) faced him forward upgraded to the Chicco nextfit convertible. Extremely easy to put in and out and not too tall. Also highly rated.

Hes 2 now, I have an e90 335i but lately I've been thinking about making the jump to an M. I've only looked at e90s cuz well I thought that's what i needed for my son but looking at that pic with freakin 2 seats in the back maybe I might consider e92s as well! Motown and Chris, you really have no issues loading the kids in an out of a coupe??

good point Mbitions, i don't want to mislead OP or anyone else, its not that simple getting the kids in and out of the seats. Its not a huge deal though for me as my kids are 4 and 6 so they can climb back there and put their belts on so I just need to tighten them down. And then they can climb out. when i first got the car though i was trying to lift them in and out to avoid mucking up the door sills. only did that a few times. I'm sure a 4 door would be easier for the in and out, but the space and fit is adequate for sure. i was stoked that they fit as well as they do and provide enough leg room for the kids.

///Mbitions, I honestly don't have any issues getting the kids in and out. My kids are 2 and 4yrs old. I originally was looking for a E90 for the 4 doors but it was not easier to get them in so went with the E92 which I personally like a lot better. The way I do it is I put one leg into the car as I carry my child in. My 4yr old gets in him self and I just strap him up....so very easy once they are able to climb in.

As I said 4 doors does not make it easier nor does it have extra space. I have an Audi A4 and I find it harder to get in because the doors do not open as wide nor do you fold down the seats.

I see nobody mentioned anything but your stroller plays a big role as well depending on your lifestyle. The infant car seat you want it to be able to snap into the stroller and all of them are not compatible with each other. There are adapters but you have to do your research.

I had the maxi cosi ap infant car seat and it even fit in my beetle rear facing, that will fit a e92 no problem. At 1 year we got the recaro performance racer it's a big car seat but it has great side support which is now in my e90 328i. I haven't had to put the car seat in my m3 yet but it should be the same.

As far as stroller I really liked the mamas and papas urbo2 at the time, very lightweight (aluminum construction and stylish) and and they make adapters for maxi cosi. A lot of these full size strollers will not even fit a e92/e90 trunk ,not to mention the weight of them!

I'm at 15 months of use so far in the e90 328i with those cheap base leatherette seats and they are perfect. No creases or anything , and if you do get any im sure sun exposure will take care of that.

once in awhile I put out 18 months old in my E93 M3. We've got him in the Britax Boulevard Click Tight. Great seat but it's pretty big in the E93. The front passenger can't sit comfortably, unless they are short.

I'm looking for something more compact at the moment.

Thanks for the insight Chris! That helps a lot and adds much more options, seems finding a clean 6mt e90 is hard right now.

I just pulled my car seats out yesterday to clean and my seat protector kept the seats perfect but the back rest part has some dents. This is probably because the back rest protector does not go high enough to cover the top portion of the seat. I've reinstalled them higher up this time to avoid further creasing.
