Would you trade your M4 for a 2015 Audi R8 v8?

I am thinking about doing for the next 6-12 months instead of getting a GT4 since I have a hard time paying over MSRP. I am in line for one but probably a year long wait at least. Any Thoughts? Pros/Cons?

Oh yell yeah. I would do it in a heart beat if I could. The rumble of V8 is bad ass enough to make me trade over.

I raced once with my former A45 AMG against a V8. The Audi couldn't get away till a high speed. The new M4 kills it.
Having said that, if you like a good looking cars with a lot of attention, don't even think twice.

I have only drove the v10. What is it about the v8 that isnt good? I know it sounds way better then s55. I dont know much about the r8. I just have always like the styling since its initial release.

Ya, I know its not fast. Either is the M4. Coming from a GTR, this car is significantly slower off the line then what I am used to but I dont race, so its not a deal breaker to me.

Thats one of the reasons I am looking to switch. I have had the M4 for about a year. Ive grown tired of how it sounds, a sound I never was fond with at the beginning.

111 mph trap for the 6MT. As someone said, the M4 kills it.

This car is the definition of "not fast". V10 or bust

Get a E9x M3 if you want sound. It's just as fast as the V8 R8

I dont own a M4 yet but I would take any R8 over a M4 in a heartbeat

Slow or not that is a must own car for me eventually. One of the best looking cars of all time, and will probably stay that way.

I actually am considering one right now, it is at the dealer going through the service dept still. My insurance quote for it was cheaper then a M4 and my M3 which is pretty nice

I just went through this same thought process but I knew I would miss the power of the M4 so I upgraded to the R8 V10 so as to not only upgrade the looks of the car that I drive but also the performance.

Does the R8 V8 trap the 1/4 mile at something like 110 mph?

For a family car like an E90 M3 sedan, that's great. For a car that looks like an exotic, NO THANKS

But then again, I'd rather have an understated car with great performance than a flash car with so-so performance

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could. It's much slower in a straight line but who cares. Like you said, get a GTR if that's your bag.

Well, but the M4 can be your DD. The V10 most probably can't.

yes, speed wise m4 wins, looks wise r8 is more of a supercar and design wise like an exotic so a bad comparison, pricewise you can get 2xm4's for the price of r8

I love the i8 style but it has got to be the hardest car for me to get in and out of lol.

Understandable. I may opt for an older year to get into a v10 instead but I am still in the early shopping phase.

I am the opposite. Id rather have a car that is more exotic then a car that is great performance. If performance was my key factor the m4 would have not been my first choice. The m4 is a great all around daily with a balance of luxury and performance but the exhaust note of this car is really killing it for me and doesnt sound like a 70k car.

for sure, i ran a brand new carrera 4s in my mildly tunned m3 and was able to pull away.

that reminded me of this add: (bmw should come up with similar)
