MMM
A few people on M5board.com were interested in a photo comparison between my E39 M5 and F80 M3. Maybe others will find the pictures interesting.

Amazing that they are both very similar in size.

They all look great! F80 is basically the same size as the e39. Lighter and a bit more power with more modern tech. I remember there was a size comparo between the F30 and e39 when the new 3 series came out. Measurements were very similar inside and outside. Now the M3 is a bit wider though...

Thank you! Appreciate the comment. Yes, that is one reason I bought the M3. The F10 is too big for my needs. Thank you! Thanks! Yes, I planned this one for a while... Yes, it's been my DD and my compulsion for almost 12 years! Thanks! Quote:

Well, I'm biased but in agreement! Yes, Golden Brown. The standard Sonoma Beige interior just wasn't doing it for me. I've been driving E39s since 1998, when I ordered my first BMW, an E39 528i 5-speed. I replaced that with a 2002 530 5-speed in 2002 and then the M5 in 12/2004. I've been driving E39s for 17+ years... That makes me feel old. But yes, I'm a fan.

I had a e39 530 in my early 20s which I thought was the perfect car for daily duties.
My new F80 m3 reminds me so much about the old car that I keep commenting to my wife about it everytime I see an odd one out on the road. |

Thanks!
Yes, in terms of size they are very similar. I had a 2002 MT 530i before I bought the M5. I sometimes wish I had not sold it, as it was such a beautifully balanced car.
