Throwing some codes
Hey guys,
Just got the car back from the shop, and it's throwing a few codes that triggered the check engine soon light and and "increased emissions" message: 0027C3 - DME: DMTL leak detection 005DB6 - DSC: Wheel-speed sensor: direction of rotation, rear left 005E19 - DSC: Engine management: interface I haven't lost power or had any weird performance issues. I drove around for a day or two before I was able to bring it in. They said some of these might be related to out of date firmware/software so I should have that done first, but I'm not sure if I buy it. The 0027C3 code could be a loose gas cap? The other two scare me a bit more. Any thoughts? |

Hey Stiles,
codes first thing after a shop visit..? You did try to simply clear them to start with? Should the battery be on the edge, that has generated some funny codes that I simply cleared out. |

Ah shit, I'm sorry, I worded that weird. I had the emissions error and the service engine soon light on before I went to the shop, which is why I took it to there for diagnostics. Sorry for the confusion!

I had that DMTL code a few months ago - replaced the gas cap to no avail. Ended up taking to the dealer (because warranty) where they did a smoke test and found a loose gas tank breather hose in the engine compartment.
Replacing the gas cap is pretty cheap, might start there. Should also note, mine usually threw the code after filling up the tank and lasted for about half a tank. Also said "Please tighten gas cap!" on the iDrive screen. |
