HELP: mystery noise in center armrest console
I have this noise in my 2011 e90 m3's armrest console that i cannot find to resolve. I hear it occasionally when I accelerate, brake or turn. It sounds like something is shifting back and forth. It's a subtle noise but drives me nuts.
I also have a 2010 e90 335i and it makes the same noise. I've opened up the armrest and didn't see anything in there except for some wiring and the HVAC plastic conduit. Both cars consoles are empty. I guess it's possible that the noise is coming from somewhere else, but both of my e90s exhibit the same mystery noise. Anyone else have this problem? |

Yep, have the same problem but have not spent any time investigating it yet. Kind of sounds like a piece of plastic has broken off something and is rattling around inside the padded piece (top) of the console.

The mysterious noise is resonance from the bearings but only when the armrest is open.
