I always go out of my way to take the long way home in the M3, and rush home and take the fastest route in the S3.
These F8X's are a blast!

Did it yesterday: went to Starbucks- turned into 1.5 hour drive - because new M3 needs break-in miles!

Went to new restaurant 20min from my place, turned to 2.5h... I mad
Not because of enjoying driving but idrive GPS not smart enough!!! (in other words, I trusted it too much) The restaurant is next to tollway (under it, on normal road) but gps guided me into tollway and I thought there would be the exit or something to lead me to but it's not. After an hour, i was in another town. I reviewed the whole route in idrive and it turned out that gps thinks (i cant use "thought" because it still thinks that way today) restaurant is on tollway. Some time i select Avoid tollway, i got nowhere because of traffic. |

All the time.
Between my commute to work which is only 2.4 miles and my dislike for kid seats in my M which means we take my wife's car often, I never seem to get enough driving time. I just passed 9000 miles after 2 years on the M3. Similarly, I look forward to trips to the airport which I used to Uber to just because it's a 20 mike drive. I need to take more road trips! |

Simply Put - If She's Mad, You Married the Wrong Girl - Or you're being Unreasonable
I can almost equate this with a story of when I purchased my CBR1000RR. While picking up said motorcycle, two months before my son was born, my brother's brother-in-law with a buddy of his said "Hey aren't you and the wife having a baby soon?", I said, yes in about two months.
Now these guys are correction officer's and are fairly imposing characters and are intimidating in size and demeanor. The friend said" My wife would kill me if I picked up a motorcycle like this just before one of our kids were due to arrive." I did not skip a beat and replied "Well sir, you went and married the wrong girl". He stood there looking dumbfounded at my comment and processed it for a moment and said "Maybe I did....shit....maybe I did". In fairness to his wife, if he does not have a predisposition for fast motorcycles and was doing it for the sake of keeping up with a friend or panick shopping, then I can fully understand his wife's angst. Now if you all are saying to your spouse, partner, significant other, etc. "Hey I am going out for some milk, I'll be right back.." and then take hours to return, you are setting up your relationships for unnecessary resentment. I am sure most of you are aware of the results of such an emotion. Mean what you say and say what you mean, I have found this is one of the most epic and fruitful actions you can have in a relationship. Now I have to go pick up some creamer for our coffee in the morning, I think I will take the long way around or pick up the creamer in D.C..I might need to stop by the gas station too. Drive well people!!!

Had to pickup something for her at our friends house who was 30 minutes away. They happen to live near a canyon road that is well known among car enthusiasts. What should have taken an hour took 3.

This just happened to me today.
Wife wanted me to run to Panera Bread and get some lunch. So I made a trip to my detailer to shoot the $*!t and bought some more detail supplies, then had to get gas and finally 2 hours later returned with lunch. Thankfully she just accepts that if I take the M it may be a while before she sees me again.

I love my M3, but I never told my wife "Im just going for a ride and I will be back soon" as I do very often with my motorcycle.
A spirit ride on a motorcycle doesn't compare to any car in my opinion 2016 Z1000 |

After getting the M3 I do everything I can to 'run errands'.
Sure baby why don't you take a break. I guess I'll go to (insert whereever here)

I think I got lucky. My wife actually likes to join my 2-hour trip for a 20-min ride to grocery stores.

Whenever I go to my girlfriends place, it'll typically take me about 15-20 minutes to get there...40 minutes if I take the streets...I'm sure you guys know which is my preferred route.
