Small lights under door handles...

Searched for a DIY but not having any luck. My car has the small lights under the door handles that up when the car is unlocked. Just noticed that the passenger side is out so trying to figure out how to change the bulb. Anyone ever do this?

Edit: Looking at Realoem.com, they only show the cover for $22.50 (primed, not painted) so wondering if I am forced to buy that entire piece and have it painted... I do have comfort access as well but that is also integrated into the same piece.

comfort access light? No way you need to replace the door cover piece....let me see if I can that p/n, I believe it's a LED bulb though...so be prepared for an ass-reaming BMW rate.

edit: try this, I didn't follow through on whether it's the correct part for the M3, but it likely correct:

Thanks! Probably the same part though I'll have to figure out how to get in to change it. I recall there was a lot of folks doing the keyhole delete at one point so I'm sure there in a DIY to get the cover off..

Edit: Damn, looking at the part I'm likely going to have to remove the door panel as well...

This is what I got off the package shown in a photo from the thread you linked earlier... 63 31 6 936 592. ECS shows the current version is 63317181314 but is appears the same as the one in the thread.

Taking off the door panel is pretty easy. I did it a few months ago to replace the ambient light trim piece that the previous owner had managed to scratch up somehow. Takes only a few minutes to remove - just use some trim removal tools and pop it off starting at the bottom rear corner and work your way around.
