Brake service light came on...but

Hey guys... last night I got a notification on my car that my front brakes need to be serviced. But 2 months ago when I got my car serviced the tech guy told me that my brakes look in great shape.

Is this notification something that comes on after a specified amount of miles? could it have been they didn't reset it last time they put new pads on my car?

Any ideas?

do you have idrive? you can check the intervals there and you should be able to see if your tech reset it or not or if it's due

yes I do. when I check on the vehicle status it just tells me to get my front brakes service done. don't say anything else.
My rear brakes says no service required for another 10k miles.

Check the pads. If they have life, just cut the sensor off and splice the two wires together.
