On the verge of changing to C63 S
Got my M3 2 months ago. After 1000KM it has so many rattle and sound from the roof that i want to sell it and get a C63s. Its driving me mad. Such an expensive car and the rattle and sounds are worse then a KIA. Any one know will C63s be better?

I had a C63 (albeit the W204 and not the new one) a while ago and it was no different in terms of rattles and sounds. I am still a member on AMG PL and go there every now and then and have seen many threads where people complain similar things about their C63S'. So to answer your question, no, I don't think it'll be necessarily better.

There is a repair bulletin opened on the F80 rattles btw. That also includes F30s

you might be referring to the door rubber/black external trim - yeh it's a big problem oversight by bmw, but can be diy fixed with either regular maintenance (waxing black window trim every wash with a highly slick sealant or carnauba wax), or applying the bmw supplied teflon tape
atm i'm using the wax trick, but i have since bought the teflon tape to shoot for a more long term solution re c63, i have a current model c63s and the sunroof rattles like crazy - the ride is also much harsher than my zcp f80 so everytime you hit some broken tarmac it sends this horrible crash through the cabin and the trim winces in pain. it is much worse in this regard than the previous model which i also had |

all cars are made of thousands of different parts. therefore they will rattle in one way or another.

My c63s did not rattle, but neither did my f80 M3. I think its more luck of the draw. My 09 CTSV had tons of ppl on the caddy forums complain about the sunroof rattle yet mine didnt either. The CTSV even had a tsb for the sunroof rattle.
My f80 did squeak once in a while from the rear brake area (common issue). But lucky me, I havent had any issues with any new car (except my volvo xc90) lol |

It's just the door trim. It's an extremely easy remedy and you won't have any rattles.

I have heard some complaints about rattles in this forum. I have experienced zero rattles thus far, 8000 miles on car. Carbon fiber roof.

maybe its my luck with new cars. all my new car had rattles haha. Hope BMW can solve the roof squeek. Sound like my car is flexing when turning or going over bumps. i think that is from the door seals. But my carbon on the dash squeeks alot when going over bumpy roads. see if they can fix it also.

Took an extensive test drive an a c63s coupe yesterday. It was a demo model that the product manager abuses from time to time when taking potential customers out for a spin. Car was solid as a rock... beautifully made IMO... plus that exhaust NOISE!!!. I am still to test drive an M4 though so cant really make an educated comparison... all I know is I so much want the C63s now.

M and AMG have a different philosophy, always has, AMG is more of a German muscle car (though the handling has improved from the past) and has it's attractions. |

Wow. Rattles do suck. My phone dock in my center console has a minor buzzing/ rattle that I need to address. Other than that, I haven't experienced even the door weatherstrip issue yet. Unless you're bored with the M, switching to the C63 is going to be expensive and your jumping out of the skillet into the frying pan...You might get a Mercedes built perfectly but its slim chances. I would hold BMW accountable by letting them fix your vehicle under warranty. Thats what it's for... especially in a new vehicle.

I honestly think BMW is starting to veer towards that philosophy also since the F8x is a freight train compared to previous M3's. It's not so much about complete balance.

But they still drive different, and obviously have different philosophy. The new M5 supposedly will lose 100kg but the new E63 S has actually gotten even more heavier than the previous gen. according to reports. |

Take it to a dealer that will fix it.
I had rattles in many of my BMWs - the dealer fixed all of them, it was like a new car. Rattles are covered under warranty and it would be much less expensive than changing cars. |
