I read about this question before on the e90post forum and remember reading that you cant get rid of the chime, but you can stop the seat belt assist from working.

Get out.
Buckle seat belt.
Sit down.
No chime?

Is that too uncomfortable? You could always buy a seatbelt from the parts department and cut off the end part and buckle it in when driving house to house. That would run you about $100 (for some reason I've purchased two for my E36 so that's a somewhat accurate ballpark). I'm sure it's the same belt as on every other three series (if not every BMW) so in just about any junk yard you could get one for $5 if you bring a knife...

How much does it bother you?

At the risk of being called an asshole by some people on this forum for pointing out the obvious... I must direct you to the search section of this forum.
There is a whole thread on these forums that discuss the chime, and why you cannot disable it and what consequences you have if you attempt to.

People please use the search button, it works and prevents others from reading and sifting through threads that are redundant.

buy a seatbelt extension like this one, cut off the part you dont need and just use the buckle and stick it in there. that would shut the car up... i am not recommending you to ride around without a seat belt, but my cousin hates wearing seat belts and bought one of these for his car....
