Question CIC/iDrive screen removal/access

Does anyone know of a thread here or elsewhere that talks to removal steps for iDrive screen from dash and subsequently from it's outer plastic hood?

I managed to mangle the anti-glare coating (idiot!!!) and wanted to remove the rest and replace it with a screen protector.

I got the display unit mostly off (popped the center vents out, removed two front screws holding the display in place, then titled it up and out) but I didn't see how to actually remove the outer shell from the display/iDrive unit. So looking for clues, before I snap fasteners by accident.

Car is 2013 E88.

Simple!
1. Send it to me.
2. I remove the screen.
3. I send the screen back.
4. I keep the housing for my tablet.

Seriously, you need to pull the entire display unit out for disassembly though.
