How much would you offer for this 08 E92?

I won't post the listing price so I won't sway anyone's opinion.

The vehicle is an 08 E92 with 40k mi, 2-owner (all service done at dealership), west coast, SG/FR with CF roof, premium package only (no tech), 220m wheels (standard I believe), 9+/10 inside and out (imperfections: surface peeling on a small part of the steering wheel where it normally peels I believe, surface peeling on part of the driver's side plastic holder on the door..not sure what it's called, baby dent in the corner back bumper with no paint loss, scratches on the bottom of the bumper but that is to be expected), clear bra on front bumper and hood

I would do 30K max. This sounds strangely like a car I was going to buy some time ago. Had only 31k miles on the clock

I agree, 30K would be the max being it's an '08 and doesn't sound like it's loaded with options. FWIW the 19" 220's were not standard, the 18" 219's were the standard wheels.

Great color combo though

40k is really low for an 08. $30-$32k in great condition. Non-California car, probably $28-9

Curious, what makes a California car worth $2-4K more?

Cars outside of the snow belt aren't exposed to road salt and the issues of sub-freezing temperatures. California cars come from a dry climate (except right on the coast) so hidden rust isn't an issue.

In the old days, sure rust was an issue. When talking to salesman here, the reason today is just simple....

Supply, demand, income.

Don't pay more for it than this one.

Lower miles (33k), great color combo, CF roof...If I didn't have one I'd buy it.

Yea, tell me about it.

Nothing like that was available when I was looking.

One of the lower priced, lowest mileage cars being offered.

It'll sell quick.

Yeah I saw this...great deal. Unfortunately I'm only looking for manual transmission E9x. The only picture I have is the blemish on the back bumper but otherwise it is in fantastic condition

I think $30k is a good price. Low mileage, desirable color combination, but missing the tech package. It's a used car so some wear-and-tear is to be expected -- all of those things can be easily fixed: just order replacement trim pieces and pay for PDR.

Just make sure the maintenance was done in accordance with the "low usage" schedule BMW specifies. 40k for a 2008 MY means only like 5k/year.

problem is, that car in itself is one point of reference. You can use it to bargain down a comparable car at the same time, but there's just not enough "good deals" out there posted. Now if there were 4-6 of the similar cars posted at the similar price, then the market would effective have shifted with that price as the baseline. But that won't be the case here. So all the other sellers have to do is just say, "so go buy that one"....and you need to put your money where you mouth is and hit the good deal.

I am currently running into the problem with finding a M6 GC right now. When the market is thin, you can't get any sellers to budge. But when there are multiple types of similar condition cars, then sellers start to compete on price.

From my experience, winter here is the best time to buy a sports car. Everyone and everything is buying a SUV or truck and the prices for sports cars go down for demand. You might be in a tough situation looking for an m6 during spring/summer since it's more desirable now

from my experience, a recession is a perfect time to buy a luxury, high cost, sports car. That and houses.
