Don't know the e46, but while he might have been faster than the BMW, he was consistently 4 wheels over the rumble strips in front of the marshall on pretty much every lap in the same place.

That is normally enough to get black flagged at just about any track day I have done.

Wow, that guy is on a different planet! That M3 was clearly faster in the corners. Then "show him a wheel", he freaking dive bombed him on the inside. He is horribly dangerous and a massive d-bag, as demonstrated by his post and driving. I think he was still butt hurt that the M3 was giving it to him and that post was to make his ego feel better.

Standard line at that part of the track. No big deal.

While I didn't like his "showing the wheel", I thought he handled the black flag lady well. Why argue when it's a no-win situation.

Why the E46 didn't let him by is the real question. I don't recognize the car but it was clearly slower than the Camero. Let the Camero go by and then watch the inevitable dust cloud (guy was not very tidy with his laps).

+1, that's what I thought. Other than that, this looks like a flagging error to me.

It is SO annoying to not get prompt point bys. Even if you think you're as fast as the guy behind you, let them by and then chase them down if you must.

I just returned from a 3 day event at the Glen as some ... people... would just not give point bys. If I've been catching your car EVERY session in a weekend and you cannot keep up, why don't you give me a prompt point by?

If I'm at another organizer's event, I've been known to treat the non-point by people to a view of my gleaming front end shifting from one mirror to the other throughout the spots I'm quicker. Usually, this leads to a complete f'up by the offending driver as they can't swivel their head and see where they're going. You do have to be careful that their screw up doesn't wad up two cars! People get rattled easily when they don't have the processing power to handle all the information coming at them and then you add more.

I once dive bombed the snot out of a porsche 911 driver in my 1992 525i and pulled up alongside it in the braking zone. Musta had a brake problem as I would never purposely make a passing move outside of the designated passing zones. I was much younger and even more dumb than I am now though. I did get a point by at the next passing zone...

Shoot, I pulled off a right foot talent pass on the back straight of COTA only to biff a corner (17 iirc) later that lap. Pointed the guy right back around on the front straight and didn't try to drag race him. Used the opportunity to cool off my brain, brakes, and tires and then have more fun on the next lap. Sometimes following someone is the best opportunity to learn a new trick or three.

It sounds like you're ready for track days in the Northeast

ZL1 owner must be the president of the Dick Measuring Competition. His post is a giant humble brag.

The E46 M3 should have given the point by and watched the douche bin his ZL1.
