Strange thing I noticed today: good amount of heat near steering column while driving

So I was driving my 2016 zcp m4 today and I noticed after it only being on for about 10 minutes that the steering column/firewall (near my legs as im sitting) is pretty warm...I don't think I would notice as much if I had both windows open or the AC on with windows up like normally but my girlfriend had her window up and mine was only cracked halfway.....it felt so warm and I don't think I've noticed that before but I usually drive with both windows down...Hope I'm not going crazy. The engine temp was only up 1/4 of the way on the gauge too

Anyone else noticed this?

Have you checked the air mix thumbwheel? This will cause the symptom you are describing.

I haven't experienced this with the F80 but had this issue with my E93. Would get very hot by my legs toward the center console/wheel column. Never did get it figured out.

Yes, I have noticed this also. 2nd summer with the M4 and it's a very warm car.
Also, the whole console gets pretty warm after the car has its running temp, more specifically the bottom of the cup holders and shifter (I have DCT).

Garage List
That's simply because the exhaust pipes are routed near that area.
