Need recommendations new rotors and pads

My car is at 54K miles and I don't know if I can get away with another set of pads on the rotors. If I need to replace them where is a good package. I am not interested in stepping up to BBK.

Pads stick with something that will last and not be noisy. Lots of people get carried away and want race everything and don't realize they're annoying and do not last.

Take a measurement first. Unless you have tracked your car extensively, my suspicion is that your rotors are above the minimum thickness. The usual suspects (ECS Tuning, FCP, Bimmerworld, Turner, Pelican, ...) have similar pricing. There have been numerous posts on FCP's replacement policy, but the longevity of rotors would make me go for price vs warranty, unless you think you will go through another set. There is a bit of sticker shock with rotors & most of the aftermarket rotors are considered upgrades, so they cost more.

For pads you need to decide what you want. Many (including myself) go with a lower dust pad such as the Akebono. If you want more bite use the search function to inform yourself on other options.

You are right. I took a close look at them. They are fine. The shop said I needed to replace them. I think I used stop tech pads last time. I am going to try Akebono this time.

Thank you everyone for the help.

If you are not tracking the car, I would stick with the OEM pads or an OEM equivalent.

Some people prefer ceramic pads, such as Akebono, because the dust they create is lighter colored and the wheels don't look dirty quite as fast. To be clear, they don't create less dust (a common misconception), it's just harder to see.

Buy from FCP for their unlimited mileage replacement warranty on everything they sell including wear items such as brakes.

The Zimmerman rotors are equivalent to the OEM ones. I don't know if they're actually an OEM supplier, but there's no functional difference.
