Which E92 Me would you choose?

Im cross shopping both these cars and curious what you would consider "better" and more collectable. Both have EDC, DCT and black interior. Similar price and mileage.

1. 2008 Interlagos blue, EPS, extended leather, sunroof, adaptive headlights, alacantra steering wheel.

2. 2010 alpine white competition package carbon fibre roof, MPE exhaust, comfort access.

I know the smart choice would be the LCI competition package but love IB and actually prefer the sunroof (i mostly track on my bike not car) as its more functional. But the MPE sounds amazing.

Competiton package not available until 2011. Might want to double-check that.

That was my 1st thought, though OP is in New Zealand, maybe things were different there? Either way, gotta check the year and VIN.

I don't know how selection is in NZ, but in the states E92's are fairly plentiful, so no reason to settle. The 2010 has the MPE which is a nice addition, and ZCP too if you car about that. I'm with you on the 2008, Interlagos is way more desirable than white, but color is subjective.

Keep searching if these don't check all your boxes

Yes we get euro models here and its definitely a competition pack i checked the vin and it has zcp.

There is not a great selection of M3s here and not sure what the future holds. If E46 M3s are anything to go by they will become more sought after and prices will reflect that. Doubt the same for the latest turbo'd M3s.

Im thinking that i could always put an MPE on the IB car but probably not comfort access although im probably better off without it (left the key fob at home by accident after driving 45 mins to the beach and a very expensive tax ride there and back!). Bit harder to put extended leather and EPS on the AW. Not really bothered about ZCP actually prefer the 229 wheels which are anthracite on the IB. If i got the AW id powercoat or paint the wheels.

AW with ZCP and carbon roof? That's a no brainer but I might be a bit biased. To me the e92 isn't complete without the CF roof. IB is a nice color but it's older and less desirable with a sunroof so easy choice for me.

I would say perhaps a manual is more collectible.

All other things being "relatively" equal, I am going to say All other model years > 2008.

2008 has much crappier older idrive
