Great review and video! I just ordered a new pair after i got an angel eye failure warning. I got my original angel eyes from lux when my car was new (2012 e92, 52K miles). Really looking forward to getting them!

I have an unopened set of h8 180s that I'm thinking about returning. Even before I saw your video, I was worried that they'd be too bright and not look OEM. Maybe the v5s would be better for the look I want.

Just put the Dtec v10.5 (160W) from E92-lighting in my '12 E92 and they are great. I really don't see needing anything brighter/whiter than this. But this is definitely a must-do mod to bring the looks of the car up to date.

You have to judge these lights from at least 20 feet away. They will never look good if you are standing at the front bumper. From a distance they are beautiful. |

The best upgrade they made is the protective glass sleeve that covers the LEDs. The bulb is BULKY AS F*** and previously it was so difficult to slot them into the housing without cutting up your hands and fingers and not damaging the LEDs.

I love my H8 180s. @luxangeleyes It was the first mod I installed in my 2013 e92 M3 after I purchased it last March. A great improvement over stock.

I have the V4 I think and they are ok. A little better than stock but not a fan of how the outer rings are so dim and the inner is so bright. I know you can't change that unless you go full headlight mod but still bothers me when I see it.

That is definitely a flaw, but Lux Angel Eyes have nothing to do with that. That is all BMW. After 2011 they decided to only give a partial LCI upgrade to the e92 M3. Only the tail lights were upgraded, nothing else.

I promise you, if you ever saw your car following you on a road you WOULD NOT notice the ring brightness discrepancy. These lights are only fairly judged from distances over 20 or 30+ feet. Almost no angel eyes look good when they are at arms reach. This is my V3, I don't even know how old by now, maybe 5 years. The pic is from a distance but zoomed in. I also have had my car follow me before and they are no different than the LCI when it is on the road. I love them. |

Curious - what was the cost of the oneeighty upgrade and how long did it take?

If you want to drive to NY you can probably do it in a day. It's not cheap, I would budget at least 1k but I do love my oneighty's.

I've noticed, that the stock LED halo on the e92 actually looks much better than later model BMWs. Some of the latter are similar to the LUX upgrade( with the faded outer halo). It seems that BMW has cheaped out on this, along with a bunch of other things.
As far as the the ONEighty headlights, it's a personal taste, but I find them a little too tuner-ish. |

The only thing they cheapened out on is not bringing the refreshed headlights over to the M's. "I find them a little too tuner-ish" 1st I've ever heard. Do you drive a stock car? |

I am aware, that the LED halos were not a stock option for the M e9x. I wrote about the non-M models. Their led halos looked super bright. That's what the last few posts were about - the stock led halos on the stock e9x models.
