Anyone checked out the C63 and few questions?

I was wondering if anyone considered the C63 vs the M3 sedan and went the C63 way or liked the m3 sedan better

THinking about jerez M3 DCT or Black C63 amg, Not gonna track the car, just street use and fun around corners and ramps

1) Thinking about premium Audio - $1900 - worth it? How does regular auidio sound- owners of regular audio, please chime in or from someone who did a comparison between the two
2) What discounts people are getting on an ordered M3 sedan DCT

Thanks

I checked out the 63 and its a sweet car. I am not a crazy BMW is god person, but I wouldn't trade my M3 for it if it helps. I have the e92 tho, never tried the e90, so maybe that might sway my opinion... maybe. I guess if you have a need for the extra doors, it may be a tougher choice, but I didn't so I had no choice lol.

If you're not going to track the car, and are looking for the most fun with ramps and such, you might want to go with the C63. The M3's handling advantages would most likely show up more only on the track, especially with the '09 C63 having the option of LSD. The C63 is going to be a straight-line highway monster, with better handling capabilities than all the other previous AMGs. I mean, they're both great cars. Can't go wrong really.

I was also looking for a C63 AMG. I didn't see it at the dealer when I got there because it was sold already. CA told me that the exhaust note is as aggressive as the CLK63AMG B.S. which was loud!! ( He wanted me to hear what it sounds like) And since the seats are the same as well, I was really going to put my deposits!

Few things to consider:
1. No keyless go Options
2. Can't adjust the suspension which means it will be more stiffer than M3
3. Automatics will be soon ( maybe later) replaced by the new MCT, or Multi-clutch Transmission in the new SL63AMG.
4. NO LSD, in order to get one, you have to get the AMG performance package which will make the car even stiffer!! I don't think it will be a good daily driver.

For M3, I'm actually getting a coupe since I rarely use the backseats.
I have heard both the regular sound system and the premium and honestly I could not tell the difference.

Keyless go will be an option in the '09 model, AFAIK.

I don't believe that it will be offered for the US market for 2009. It is in Canada.

I consider this to be a torque versus handling debate. Do you like a light car that handles well, or do you want a 'throw you back in the seat' torque monster.

I think the luxury options aren't the decision maker here. I am also considering both and haven't made up my mind yet.

Seems like the big problem with the C63 is the transmission. If you prefer a manual you have to go M3, because you can't get one on the C63. But if you prefer the auto, the M3 is also superior with the dual clutch. Too bad, because with a better transmission the C63 would be sweet.

Got it. That's kind of a bummer. Those Canadians lucked out!

The C63 does perform quite well, especially in a straight line.....BUT it does not have the "feel" factor of a BMW, or even close to the feel of a M BMW..... Yes the C63 will win the drag race.....if thats what your looking for....but for me its more about smile factor on the road course!

I also don't care for the looks of the new C class.....I liked the old one much better!

I drove both. C63 rides harder than M3, seats are tight (which for me means climbing out of the car) and interior is just like a C320. Engine note is good if thats what ypu want every day whereas the M3 is like 2 cars in one - quiet when you want it but ..... well you guys know the rest!

My cousin has the C63 for about 3 weeks now and it is a beast. I haven't driven it yet but I was riding shotgun when a guy with a 645 tried to race us. For those familiar with the New Jersey Turnpike, we were going south on the Lincoln Tunnel side. There is a sign that says Lincoln Tunnel exit 2 miles. Our race started about a mile before that so it was about a 3 mile race.

The 645 was behind us when he gunned it and I told my cousin that he was going for it. He got about 3 cars ahead of us before my cousin gunned it and we reeled him in in no time at all. Then my cousin passed him by about 1/2 a car and shut it down only to realize that the 645 is still on the gas so my cousin punched it again. At this point we're at 120mph-130mph but the bimmer at pulled about 2 cars again. So we reeled him in again and again my cousin shut it down again but the 645 was about 1/2 a car infront of us and still going. So my cousin hit the gas again and both cars were maxxed out at 155mph or so with the 645 having the lead by about 2 cars. At this point we reached the exit and they got off and we continued south.

I will say that the 645 was ahead most of the time and probably told his boys that he beat a "C-class" Mercedes that night but we know the truth. Also he had 4 passengers in his car and we had 2. I promptly scolded my cousin because all these cars are limited to 155mph and it's a matter of who gets there first. He said that he was scared because that car just picks up and never stops.

I sat in the M3 and the seats are not just more comfortable but way more comfortable. And the C63's suspension is harsh so with the combination of the seats and suspension you start to feel that driver's fatigue after about 1/2hr in the car. This is my opinion though so some might like the harshness of it. It is a very good car nonetheless and looks absolutely stunning in person. At WOT it sounds very similar to a Gallardo though not as loud. There is torque everywhere so I'd suggest not eating a big meal before driving because you will mess up the interior. If you're not going to track the car, the C63 would probably beat the M3 in "real world driving." Looks are subjective but I personally like the M3 more. The C63 from what I can tell doesn't feel "numb" anymore like the Mercedes of the past. You really can't go wrong with either car.

What a dumbass that he had to take it all the way to the speed limiter at 155mph to prove something. wtf. The C63 will pound a 645i. No reason to race to 155 to prove that. I have driven both. Just drove the C63 a few nights ago. The straightline speed is insane. Your comments are correct. It absolutely throws you back in your seat (as a passenger I couldn't keep my head up, it was like warp-drive) And yes, those seats are hard compared to the M3's. The seat cushion is hard, not too comfortable. The ride is stiff, but I didn't have a problem with it. What disappointed me was the steering. Lots of boost at low speeds and it still lacked a really "direct" feel overall. Turn-in response lacked crispness. This could have been partly due to 18's that might have had softer sidewalls than I am used to.

Depends on what you're used to I suppose. If you can give up a little bit of feel, or can't tell the difference in the first place, the C63 is a great choice. I think the C63 will prove to be reliable as well, since Mercedes has really had to clean up its act after recent quality issues. The C63 doesn't have that "sense of occasion" I get in an ///M car, but it's a fine car. Did I mention it was fast? The engine sound was more Nascar than F1, but it's not bad. The C63 is like a Z06; the M3 is like a GT3. I think either would make me happy, if that's even possible....

I gave the C63 a hard look but unforunately the ride is HARSH compared to the M3. I do plan on using the M3 on long day trips and such where comfort is more important.

Nice to know that that M3 rides better than C63. But how about the price between the two.
