Moonroof and the E90 M3
Did anyone order a moonroof for their E90? I'm debating if I should change my order to include it. My only real concern is I did notice there is slightly less headroom with the moonroof but I'd like other people's thoughts as well.
I figure it's good to have on some temperate days when its not too hot or not too cold. |

It is your choice. If you have no headroom issue and you like it then go ahead with it. Please note that it will add weight. I ordered mine (E92) with MRoof instead of CF. It will give me a sense of roominess plus it will help cool down the interior during hot days in summer. I am sure that the CF will look cool and weight less but I am more for a functionality options.

meh, I can't really remember how I felt with the moonroof at the dealer right before I ordered. I'm simply left agonizing over the wait.
Anyone else order an E90? Seems like the majority here are coupes. |

I have an E90 on order. I ordered the moonroof. It's a great feature, and it seeems like something that belongs on a $63K car.

Moonroof 100%, even on the coupe. It's not like the CF roof turns the car into a lightweight. The roof is the least of that car's problems from a weight standpoint. Seems to me most people buy it for looks, which is OK, but I like the open-ness of the moonroof and I'd feel silly buying a CF roof as it screams poser to me. That's just my thoughts on it though.
I guess if you don't want/like moonroofs, then it's a no-brainer to get the CF. I'm a claustrophobe though I think, as I have to have a moonroof. |

I'm almost glad CF wasn't an option on the E90 - that would have made for a really hard decision. But a steel roof without moonroof? Blasphemy. There is nothing finer than tooling around on a warm summer night with the roof open - oh man, it gives me bumps....all over.

CF for me since mine was a coupe.... but I would definitely opt for the moonroof on the E90 M3 sedan... even if the CF was offered for it.... Space gray E90, M-DCT, Tech Pkg, 18s, and the moonroof... sounds good, huh?

I asked my dealer to include the moonroof. I just hope that it can still be modified since BMW has accepted my order.

I'm not a fan of moonroofs. My E46 ///M3 doesn't have it, and the only reason my E90 330i has it is because it is a standard option (..and I couldn't delete it).

my e90 335xi has the moonroof, and i love it, it really makes the cabin feel airy. therefore i got it on my e90 m3 which will be here shortly. you cant go wrong with the moonroof unless you are really tall.

I would never consider a moonroof on any car. Thank goodness the M3 is offered without one, unlike the U.S. bound entire 3-series and 1-series line up. Moonroofs are fine for those who want one, but there should always be a choice to opt out of it.

Having spent the last 3 days driving my new sedan around with the moonroof wiiiide open, letting in all that sweet spring air, I say you'd be crazy not to get it!
Yes, you can tell that a little headroom was sacrificed, but I'm 6ft and my head is nowhere near touching. I could definitely fit a helmet no problem. |

I am 6'2" and have an E90 w/moonroof, no problem with headroom at all. If you like the moonroof at all, get it, you do not need to worry at all about the the height.

If you get a convertible, that means you have upgraded your surround system!
