suggestions?? about trading in my hardtop for the convertible??
Wow? I enjoy my hardtop, put 3k miles on it already. I got it in mid March. But looking at pictures and reviews, daym the convertible is going to be a sick vehicle in person to be around! I should have waited to get it but it was the excitement of getting the M3 , so I just got the first one I could lay my hands on. What is the expected lost of value if I trade my Hardtop M3 back in for the convertible? Or should I just look for someone that wants my M3 right now and then order the convertible? IF so, where should I go about to post my M3 for sale?
I’m in a dilemma. |

figure the KBB isnt out yet, but a dealer would easily sell it with a 10k profit margin, so its safe to assume your MSRP-10k-Gasguzzler tax=trade in offer. Much easier to sell it your self and give your buyer the savings and break instead of the dealer.
I say this coz second owner does not pay Gas tax MSRP-gas tax secondly some dealers are discounting MSRP coz of gas and economy, so thats (MSRP-gas tax)-new car discount third you know you have to take at least a conservative hit of 5k ((MSRP-gas tax)-new car discount)-5k then you know they'll try to make their little profit margin of lts say $2-5k ((MSRP-gas tax)-new car discount)-5k)-$2-5k 10k easy |

Had you not seen pics of the vert yet?
Anyway, at this point I would keep it and try and demand a high trade in or sell it when your vert arrives. Will not be a huge price difference between a 3K vs 5K miles resell. |

Take a look at the chrome trim around the windows. There is a big break in the trim at the folding top's seams. Highly noticeable with the chrome. Wait for '09. They might offer shadowline trim as an option (or standard?) then. This looks much better. Just my $0.02.

if you planning to have the top down all the time then do it, if not you going to have buyers remorse because your M3 now is just awesome. not a fan of verts myself.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=140901&page=2 I'm keeping my order spot, because I'm starting to warm up to the idea of having the crappier aluminum-ish trim, even though I had my heart set on the black trim (which is on the car in my signature picture below). I'll have the top down most of the time (as Davinhci suggests) so It won't bother me too much. Overall, the car is stunning in person (especially with the top down).
