Would you trade an M4 CP for a C63 S?
Has anyone driven both back to back that currently owns an M3/M4? If so was it a comp pack or non comp pack M3/M4 and was the MB a C63 or C63s? I am looking to possibly go to Mercedes and wanted to hear any advice on those models.

Own M3 no comp pack drove c63s. Nice car, stupid fast, comfortable, and I felt like a slightly smaller rear seat area than the F80 (Thats just what I felt it may not be true). no manual though so it was really a nonstarter for me. The v8 is nice and the sound the thing makes is subjectively better than the F80 although to be fair I like the f80 sound too outside of cold starts. We're talking horses for courses here. Frankly you can't make a "wrong" choice here. It all comes down to preference. If I did a lot of highway driving I'd probably rather have the c63 because IMHO it's just a tad bit more comfortable for long journeys. I would struggle to get over it's plain Jane exterior and the interior really doesn't do it for me. I know a lot of people like the interior of the merc but it's too "glitzy" For me. I like BMW as the more utilitarian of the two.

Mercedes is for old people.
No but jokes aside, the sound on its exhaust is superb I'd get it just for that. Not a fan of their infotainment screen how it bulges out as if someone stuck an ipad on the dashboard and I prefer the BMW interior and mostly the DCT over the automatic on the Mercedes. Power wise, I think the C63S is more fun to be honest though

Personally haven't driven a CP M4, only non CP F80, and C63 non S.
Keep in mind it is rumoured the LCI C63S in late 2018 will have the infotainment system from the new E class/S class with the full length screen dash etc. My choice would be wait out for the LCI C63S as I love the new infotainment systems and full screen dash's in mercedes. I also think the sound of the C63 is amazing. Again, all depends on how long you plan to keep the car and many other options as others have mentioned, highway driving or city driving, etc. Drive both and see which you prefer. |

Both offer their pros/cons. If you had your fill of the M4 CP, then why not? Just to try something different. I don't think you will be disappointed especially since you are already thinking about it.
I would say going the other way, C63S to M4 ZCP, same thing. Something different, but you won't be disappointed. Also, don't underestimate the aural experience of a top-notch engine... That C63S (I've heard the sedan) sounds pretty damn good. Looks are subjective, and although I think the M4 ZCP is overall the better looking car, you will get over that fast in the AMG. I know people here will defend the M4 interior (which I love) over the AMG, but honestly, I don't remember the last time BMW out Mercedes-ed Mercedes when it comes to interiors. I went from a 15 M3 to a 17 C63S coupe. The merc wins on sound, interior, torque, seats. The M3 is lighter and more nimble and has the superior transmission (my M3 was a manual). Overall I think the merc is the better street car. The BMW is presumably the better track car. The BMW wins on price, especially if you are leasing. No bad choices here however...

I would love to try the Merc just to change things up. I'm one of those weirdos who likes the sedan more than the coupe lol just wish it had wider rear flares. I've not driven one but on paper, I could probably get over the column shifter if it checked all the other boxes for me... I'm a manual guy at heart but I can't deny the merc is bad ass.

I can't get over the outside looks of the merc's. C63 Sedan looks like a totally regular c-class with no rear wide body.
The coupe looks like an Accord... |

Wow...thats really sad how close those look.
For me the manual transmission, exterior looks and "cool" factor of an M3 wins in my books over a merc. |

I have to agree with you here! For such a monster performance car, the absence of a nice rear fender flare makes it look ordinary. One of the reasons an M3 looks better than a normal 3-series is the aggressive flares.

I'd like to try a C63S but the lease premium over an M3/4 is senseless. If I wanted to buy a car, I'd give it a try for the AMG V-8.

It was more of a joke man but in the past, anytime I see an MB on the road, it was an old 60+ years man driving it.... same with Porsches....
Nothing bad in that, just that only older senior citizens can afford them
