Got a new 2018 M3!

Hello all,

I was casually looking around for a used M3 or thinking about ordering a new M2, when I saw that a dealership about 500 miles from me had a brand new 2018 M3 pretty close to how I'd spec it (6MT, mineral grey, EP, 19"). After going back and forth for a little while, I put a deposit down on a deal for a little under invoice in addition to the $3k financing incentive, plus got a not unreasonable price for my Golf R. Drove out there in my VW and drove back in my new M3. Can't believe how smoothly things went and how happy I am with the car. (I'm glad I went with the M3 over the M2 if for no other reason that there's more of a backseat for my kid.)

Got a lot to learn with all the features of this car. Just put winter wheels and tires on. Wish I had more time on the summer tires...

Grabbed this phone shot of my new M3 in all its dirty glory. Busy weekend has prevented a more appropriate shoot. Mineral grey M3 with black kidney grills. And I have my winter wheels on--Alutech Pearls.

What did you get for your R?

I'm going to sell my R in the early spring because the trade number was a bit low.

I got $16,500 for my 2013 Golf R with 72,000 miles. I know I could have gotten another grand or so if I sold it myself, but it would have been more difficult logistically and I don't have the time I used to have to list and sell my old car.

How much did they offer you for your car?

How much did they offer you for your car?

Traded in my F30 335i M Sport with 55K miles for $22200, dealer offered $5K off MSRP for FY18 M3 CP.

Congrats. Curious where you bought - Erhard FH had a very similar car (DCT) to the one you bought.

Ahh, I see. Difference in model years.

I had a 2012 Golf R and it was fun... I have a 2017 now, and I was offered $30k for it. I can sell it PP for around $36.5k.

I got it at Faulkner BMW of Lancaster, PA. I would highly recommend them. Of course I would have preferred to get it locally, but they had the right car in stock at a good price. To get it locally (if a local dealer would have matched Faulkner's price), I would have had to order and would have missed out on the $3k incentive. Dealing with Faulkner was great.

There is nothing like picking it up from a distance and enjoying the ride home. I’ve bought from several far away dealers for the same reasons you did (deal, car spec) and always had a good experience and great drive home.

Congrats, I have a similar build in the Detroit area (6MT, Mineral Grey), although mine is in hibernation mode for the next few months. Maybe we will see you out and about in the spring.
