Window trim fell off
Hi
My friend has the issue about plastic trim under the side rear window. It fell off completely. Originally this was glued by design which has to replace whole window assembly but we dont want to. So what kind of glue or fix? Bmw dealer really have no idea and want us to replace the whole thing. The funny thing is that, I just noticed my trim started to loose as well. The end trim where attach to the curved upper trim popped up! *white car is mine Last edited by Nomana; 05-17-2018 at 03:29 AM.. |

Will this work?
Seem like the trim(plastic) has to stick on weatherstrip(rubber) |

If I understand the joint design, the metal tang connects the two pieces and slips on with epoxy/glue.
I don’t think the trim is adhered to the rubber weatherstripping but I could be wrong. I’m on mobile but if you google 3M Products 03601 Part Number: 133-03601 |

I emailed the guy who has same issue, he said dealer glued it back with some kind of adhesive but had to do it twice since the first time it fell off again. Shadowline window trim glue - help - save me $200 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1076482 |

If this is the case, the glue you posted should work since it’s formulated for rubber. Be sure to prep the surfaces extremely well before application.
Consider how you’re going to keep the pieces attached during the cure time. |
